I have just got Halo for the xbox.
Why? Cause so many people say it is cool so I thought what the hell and got it to try out.
I give Halo about a 8/10
It is a guys game to the max. But fun to play. Die aliens.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (PS2)- A great old school RPG with great simple RPG battle system, wonderful live orchestra music, great graphics, and a huge world to explore. The story is tad bare-bones though. It also comes with a great demo of FFXII.

Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)- The soundtrack is Soundtrack of the Year quality. The graphics are marvelously detailed and theres so much serene beauty and awe inspiring landscapes. The gameplay is innovative and pulled off specatcularly well.

Call me shallow but i love a good old fashioned 2-d fighting game.
The most recent one i bought was King of Fighters, 2002 and 2003.

I also purchased Ninja Gaiden Black, which is so awesome.

Speaking from you is now Officially prohibited. Why? Dragon Quest VIII is -not- an old school RPG. An old school RPG has a plot, and a good battle system. Not an over symplified piece of junk system with characters straight from DBZ (Yeah, I realize he was the head character creator, but come on man).

Shadow of the colossus - Give me a break. It may look good, but the plot is horrible and it's toooooo short.

MOVING ON.
Stella Deus - Fun game, great battle system. Gives me a challenge. Lengthy, and extremely fun.

Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga 1&2-
Games of the YEAR hands down. No other RPG has this much. Storyline, battle system, and extremely long with alternate ending plots. Yay for ATLUS and their mighty.

Radiata Stories -
As bad as i'd have to say most of square-E's recent titles have been, this one was done correctly.

Wild Arms: Alter Code F -
Any remake of the first Wild Arms is going to be good. Hands down.

Shadow of the colossus - Give me a break. It may look good, but the plot is horrible and it's toooooo short.

The game is all about simplicity and style, not story. And some of us would rather not waste 20-30 hours on one game. So only being a few hours long is fine by me.

Last games I bought were on saturday, I got soul calibur 2 for the cube. Which is by far the best version, both control wise and secret character wise. And I also picked up paper mario the thousand year door. I generally don't like RPGs, but paper mario is a fun game that doesn't have any melodrama in it.

I buy games all the time, in fact it's rare if I don't buy at least one game every week. Pretty mcuh none of them are just to hit the shelfs but I couldn't put in to words how little this matters to me.

-As for the battle system being simple...Simplicity is king? Not everything is going to be some complicated over the top battle system. I like the battle system because it is simple, and it does work, so I fail to see what's wrong with a battle system being simple. Final Fantasy 7 and Poke'mon have simple battle systems, and people are still tripping over themselves for them.

-Akira only drew three characters that look like dragon ball characters. Thats three out of several hundred characters.
Angelo looks liek trunks, thats the most obvious one.
Morrie (at the monster arena) looks like Hercule.
When you're hero reaches max tension, he looks like a super sayian for a turn (And this is only in the American version of the game. They most likely did it too boost sales in america)

-The plot...I've been playing for about 40 hours, and from what I see there is a plot. It may not be complicated and confusing to the extent of Final Fantasy, but it's still a plot basic as it may be.

Than again, thats just my opinion. If you hate the game that's your choice.
