I love World of Warcraft.
Mostly the Warcraft games that's on my pc, I really enjoyed playing it.
Yes, it is a strategy game, but it has alot of good info. about the orc and the demons that you have to build up. It's really fun.
so you are hord then?

Oooh, you mean that. I didn't really played it as much.
I got it for about 1 month but I haven't really played it yet. Just partly.
I warn you now, that game is incredibly addicting. It's fun, and you'll throw your life away playing it. It's totally worth it. =P

world of warcraft is the first game blizzard i think...to have to be payed to play online
Most MMORPG games are pay-to-play. Sure, there are exceptions (the new guild wars being a good example) but in general, it's pay to play. Which, if you think about it, isn't so weird. They have to pay people to keep the servers up, improve things, create new things, all of which costs money.

Please don't double post, we have an edit button for that.
Yes, the game is more like Everquest the Diablo. Personally, I think WoW beats Diablo, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Yes, these days the current trend is for players to play online because new updates cost money, servers cost money to maintain, and when you think about it, let's trace back to who started this trend. People would say "Everquest", but that's not true. There was "Tankz online", the first Pay to play game for the computer. Then there was Dark age of camelot, right before everquest. Then everquest came out, and companies saw the success of these two games. After, there was Asheron's Call, then Anarchy online. It's the current MMORPG trend, and it's not going to go away. The reason is because of pure business. If you look at most games online these days, it's either FPS's or MMORPG's. Not a lot of in-between unless it's a RTS. Game companies just don't really want to make something innovative and new because that's venturing into unknown territory - which isn't good for business.Originally Posted by red storm
A better way to put it would be, "not worth the risk"Originally Posted by Krsnik
One other thing thats being exploited right now is the 'sims' or simulators much like the game carying that very name. I suppose one of the things that makes them so popular is that girls buy them too (which I don't understand, those games bore me after 2 days at most).

It's because it's kind of like family life, in a way. You're right, they don't want to lose money. The last game that made a biiiiig risk when creating it was Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (Or world of warcraft, because of it being an RTS before hand). That's because in SMT, you play the demon that's supposed to either save or destroy the world, that's entirely your choice. It's open-ended, and it's actually got an original plot. Didn't do too well with sales, but it was an incredible game, just highly overlooked.
I agree, games like the Sims, are boreing after only a few hours of playing it.
Social expectations diminish an individual's ability to think as an individual.
World of Warcraft has been in the works for years, so that one doesnŽt count. I think IŽll be on the lookout for SMT as well...Originally Posted by Krsnik
