I just went to see this movie, and it's pretty good. 9/10, definately. What do you dudes think about it? What about the first movie? And the books?
Well, all that's up for discussion. Have fun!
And my two cents later.

it was a good movie

I thought it was great. Johnny Depp played a very good Willy Wonka. I was surprised how well he fit that roll. Not everyone can go from playing Edward Scissorhands to a Pirate to Willy Wonka. ^^
I thought the actor that played Charlie was very good as well. Grandpa Joe was much different in this one than in the original movie. But I thought it worked out.
Nothing beats the original, but I really liked this one. I don't know if this version was as "kid friendly" as the original. Eh, but either way, it was great. ^__^ (but they didn't have the fizzy lifting drinks. T__T .. I was dissapointed. Is that part in the book, or not?)
A lot of people said it was good. Depp's new 'do is mildly frightening, though. o_o

Three words, yes? Don't. Go. There. Haven't seen the movie. Don't want to. It looks retarded. Too childish. I mean, there's a bold line between too childish and something a child would watch. This one goes past that line. I saw the first one. That one was okay, I suppose. This one just looks freaky.

I agree; the way they made Willy Wonka look was... weird. Kinda like he was made of plastic, or something.
I enjoyed the backstory of Willy Wonka. I always wondered what career field his father was in o.O
Yeah! No fizzy drinks ;__; I was dissapointed over that too.
this one is close to a scary movie
Jonney Depp and Tim Burton are my favorite movie people. Sadly I haven't seen the movie yet. I sooooo want to!

Wow. Way to make assumptions on something. Never judge a book by it's cover, eh?
I just got home from seeing the movie. I really liked it. Johnny Depp was hilarious as Wonka.
I reccomend it.
i loved this movie johnny depp was so hott in it even though he looked funny, and the oompa loompas were AWESOME!!!

'Yes! Guri-guri-ing all over the place. I'm jealous!'
I thought that was clever too; I laughed so hard whenever one was the psyciatrist XDOriginally Posted by Tsuna
And the narrator part was awesome as well.
havent seen it yet but man i dont think i want to .
johnny depp creeps me out ...seriously...and those kids look so annoying...its like..
hell in a movie theater!! AHHHHH i depise the thought!
the original cant be topped.
It was not as good as the first one and gene wilder was a much better willy wonka then johny depp. But i enjoyed it and i think it is something parents should take there kids too.It is always good when a decent movie for a younger audinence comes out.

i have loved the original movie forever and thought this remake was gonna bomb. i saw it anyway just to see how badly it compared, and i loved it. it cam from the same idea, but was completely different. this one was more for the family heme and the old version was more of an honesty thing.
tim burton is by far the best director out there. and paired with johnny depp yet again. this movie actually made me laugh out loud. not a tut, or a laugh in my throat but a genuin laugh.
Sig thanks toaYaMe5967~^_^~
I don't plan on seeing it any time soon...
-FMA18-New signature soon, hopefully. =3
Well, I liked everything about it except for the Oompa Loompa. I mean, some of the music scenes with it, just looked like they were trying wayy too hard to make it funny. But other then that I really enjoyed it. And I understood the concept of why they made the Character Willy Wonka look the way he did. He has supposedly been locked up in his Factory for years, and therefore has not been out into the real world, to actually get enough sunlight, so he looks pale. His teeth are perfect because of his dad dentist, the hair is wayy old fashioned or just way weird because he just simply hasn't been out in the real current world to see how the style has changed. Well that's just my opinion. But i'd give the movie a definite 9/10.
Anything with Johnny Depp in it is fine by me :P
The movie though, yes it was different from the original.. But I liked it... Oompa Loompas were funny ^_^ *props Tim Burton*

Seriously though, don't judge this movie before you see it. It isn't childish at all; but then again, it is for the younger audience out there as well. It's pretty much a movie everyone of all ages can enjoy.
Tim Burton is a fabulous director; my fav, actually ^^
I haven't seen it yet, but I will! Johnny Depp RULES!! ^___^

I have not seen it yet. It looks silly.
Thanks to Omen blood
Haven't seen the new one, but I loved the old one. I swear, throughout that entire movie I was waiting for Willy Wonka to kill those kids. With the sarcasm and his nonchalant attitude, one would think that he hated children. Wasn't sure about the new one, but I'm kinda excited now.
Tsuna, I agree; it would make one helluva of a horror movie.

Hahaha.. XD. I think the new Willy Wonka would be more likely to kill the kids than the old one. ... darn, that should be a horror movie. =POriginally Posted by VRini87
I wish they had the opening scene from the original in the new movie. I loved that part when they sang the Candyman song ... I was kind of sad that they didn't do it.
I know; the only ones who sang were the Oompa Loompas. But they were good ^^
But still... No candyman ;__;
