What do you do when you're depressed?

Whenever I feel depressed, I think it's always good to talk to someone about it. There always seems to be someone for me that understands me, and I can just talk with them, and eventually, I start to feel a bit better. Laughter is also important to me. I think I have to laugh a few times to just get the depression out of me. What about you?

im usually depressed on a lot of things. such as my future, school and things like that. what i do is i go outside and just stare at the sky and just worry about nothing. i also try not to think because i think a lot so this technique is good for me.

I sleep on it or play video games and listen to music, talking about your problems to people just leads to too many questions like, "Why?", "How come?", and "What can we/you do to make yourself feel better?". Or you get the "That's life for ya buddy." from some people.

well..when i get depress, i just play a game ( fighting game highly recommended ), or draw. It useually works. Also to make me feel more happy, I listen to the rite typr of music, with the rite mood.

I normally find someone to talk to as well...Or I write, writing is my escape for almost everything. That's probably why I have a pen permanently attached to my hands.

Laughing is such a good release. Just finding something completely random to laugh about usually helps me. I'm lucky I have so many people I can trust...

When I'm depressed, it's usually when I get picked on about my looks or even just my opinions on things. So I will lock myself in my room for about four hours and cry till I sleep. Then once I wake up, I get over it fastly. After a month or so I will talk about it to close friends on here. This is when I actually feel confident on talking to someone...

Hmm... when I get depressed, I usually juz lock myself in my room, turn on the radio and turn the volume to the highest level... Then I'll play games the whole day until I go to sleep...

I listen to music or just daydream it away. I'll even go on a chocolate binge. Very unhealthy, i know. But it works (for one minute and you feel guilty the next. O_o)

Ii'm not often depressed but if i am, i usually listen to music or play something om my guitar, it calms my mind a bit and when i calmed down i try to solve the problems...

i guess the fact that i have my friends to talk to helps a lot too.... yeah, props to my friends ^^

uhhmm,.. First I go looking at a lake (or something.. as long it's water and outdoors.. but no swimmingpools etc. just nature water you know *wink* ) because it's restful. Then I start to think about what happend and how I can deal with it , after that I wipe away all my tears take a deep breath, stand up and go on with my life.

Been there and done that!
Used to cut to ease the pain (not a good thing to do)
Used to smoke and run (great combo)
Used to drink--not a lot, but enough(not anymore, alcoholism runs in the family and I'm not going down that road)
used to self-medicate...don't do that anymore either, I don't really want to die
Now I just journal, write poetry, listen to music and exercise (usually a game of tennis)

I dont get depressed easily but... When i am... I prolly just listen to music... Techno is the best for that kinda stuff... Gets me pumped and forget about all the bad stuff.. Either that or like... eurobeats.. Like Initial D music...

I go outside, get some light, mainly because most of my depressions are light related; living so far north as i do has it's downsides - the winters are very dark, so dark it's almost impossible to get the levels of sunlight you require (yes require, sunlight deprivation is known to cause depression).
