I did a small search for Guilty Gear threads, but it seems most of them are dead for at least two months. And since the bumping of old topics is against the rules.....

WHAM! Rebirth of the Guilty Gear thread.

I have started playing GGXX #Reload recently, and it has totaly captivated me. The speed, the combo's, the anime, and more importantly, Dizzy!

Indeed, Dizzy is by far my favourite character for figting. Following her is Chipp. A strange combination, since the two have completely different fighting style, but I suspect that is actualy the reason. Sometimes you need a different strategy to defeat you opponent (especialy when you have button bashing geniuses like my sisters).

In terms of characters, however, my favourite list would be Dizzy first, followed closely by May, then Jam and rounding it up with Bridget (and yes, I am fully aware he's a guy).

Edit: On a side note, GGXX2 #Reload is also available on the PS2. That's were I played it.

Is guilty gear that good a game?
I was watching a show on it and they said it sucked cuz it's 2-D

I found out that that's a common thing to say for Guilty Gear haters. 'It sucks because it's 2D, our games rock!' This is not true. Yes, Guilty Gear is 2D, but that makes for faster action. I don't know if any of you played DBZ budokai, but when people have a ranged fight, 75% of the time people are using the 3D aspect to dodge their opponent. Guilty Gear has excellent graphics, the sprites are excellent and tension attacks (or overdrives) are magnificently animated. Not to mention funny at times.

Personally, I love it and would choose it over Tekken or Soul Calibour anytime.

Yeah! Guilty Gear is probably the best mainstream fighting game around! GGXX#Reload for the X-Box and PS2 in some places I guess is the " Most balanced fighting game to date." The newest version of it though is GG Itsuka which is on the PS2 and is 4 Player! It's very difficult to master; in each level you can swich between the foreground and background (which is really hard to tell the difference between), AND you have to push a button to turn around... every time... yikes...
Anyway the whole series gets 9+ in my book, lots of really unique characters and fast-paced play. You should All find a copy and play someone, I highly reccomend!

I am fully aware of that, but he still looks cute, that's why he's among my favourite characters. Cuteness is a weakness of mine. That, and I don't mind crossdressing one bit.

I have GGX2 and GGX2 #Reload both good games GG is my favorite 2d fighter and Chipp owns all.

The NTSC version is called GGX2 #Reload.

GGXX #Reload was never in released on the PS2 in America. America has GGX2 on the PS2.

Look at my reply above this quote. GG is mainstream??? What are you talking about Soul Caliber and Tekken are mainstream fighting games.

Isuka blows they got rid of shadow characters, they got rid of gold characters, and they have a turn button. That is just freakin stupid. I recommend GGX2 for PS2 or if someone has a Xbox GGX2 #Reload.

It's not? Are you sure, because I played the English version of Guilty Gear X2 #Reload (and that's excactly what it says on the box) on my PS2. Then again, I do live in Holland. Perhaps this is finally a game wich comes out in Holland before it comes out in America. Joy! ^_^

Guilty Gear X2 #Reload is on Xbox only here in America.

Lucky us then, perhaps you should try to import it. That is, if you do not have the X-BOX version already. Or you could try the more unoficial shops instead of the mainstream shops.

Not really, it all depends on how good you are with your character and how good the other is with his character. There's no such thing as a 'best character' only a character with wich you are the best.

I've been playing guilty gear scince the origional ps1 game. I've loved it scince then. Me and someone else can easily play this game for hours a a time. it never gets boring. great characters. Chipp zanuf is My favourite character for his agility and dexterity. He is one of the weakest characters but his special moves can be used in large combos, easily stretching to 20 with a dust attack. His gama blade actuall holda people in ggxx: reload so you can get even longer combos after you have already done a 7combo. Jam kudaborei is my next fave, in there with milla rage for their speed. Chipp's sp and ex modes are phenominal, especially with gold chipp or dark chipp. In survival for ggxx: reload i reached level 500 exactly. Baiken killed me, as you now have to face gold characters. I just unlocked chipp's gold mode at 480! The gulty gear games aren't and worse for their 2-d feature. It seems to make it easier, yet harder as you can't dash sideways like you can in tekken or mortal kombat. The anime insiration is what sold it to me. It's the smoothese anime inspired game i've played to date. It is a must play!

Johny's instant kill is cool. Just use it, and even if the com dodges your attack you just punch them in it again.

too bad I don't have PS/PS2 counsel...T_T but I like GG, it sound cool and have different gameplay than any other fighting games. I would like to play GG: Itsuka, the character design have been improve... 'nough say.

I didn't know this game ever became quite this popular, I've been following it since part one when Justice was the main boss, and I love it. My best characters seem to be Sol, Axl, and Johnny. And has anybody else played Isuka? I own it, and and Guilty Gear fan probably would too. It's a 4 player simultaneous fighting game, which makes for some fevered combat at times, but there are some flaws with the game that might turn some people off. First, the game has two different planes of fighting, which is fun, but can sometimes be confusing and clumsy. Second, since the game is four player, you have to press a button to manually turn around to face the direction you want. This is awkward at first, espeiclaly to avid 2-D fighter fans, and especially stupid when you still have to use the button for one on one fights. Instant Death attacks are also absent this time around, which is no big loss in my opinion, I never used them before and they've only worked on me a few times in the past. Finally, Cliff (Old Guy with the giant sword) is gone in place of a new, creepy-as-hell character; A.B.A.

I'm waiting for isuka to be released in the UK but as soon as it's on the shelves i own it. I'm really looking forwards to seeing if chip zanuff has any new moves or combos to explore. I have ggxx: the midnights carnival. Chip's new gamms blade hold is really useful. His taunt with the shuriken in mid air is fun to use and pressing r1 for the air takedown is handy. He can also do air grabs! Really handy. he isn't the most powerful, but i've found his mose powerful combos that deal alot of damage. I'm not kidding when i say i've found a combo that takes off 50% healt the first time you use it. Pm me if you want great tips on chip zanuff. I got to level 500 in survival with him.

I dont care who you are guilty gear is awesome.....
sure its graphics dont look too great but gameplay is awesome...
I played the original on playstation and cant wait to get the newest one.

Me and my friend rented it and fell in love with it!!!! it's the Best Fighting game Ever!!!!!! and my Fav character is Jonny!!!!! he's soooooooo dreamy!!!!!!!!!! i hope i can get it this Christmas!!!!
