Buy Fullmetal Alchemist?

As any Fullmetal Alchemist fan knows, FUNimation has released the first volume of FMA just recently. It has been announced that they plan to release the 51 episodes in 13 episodes, each with 4 episodes but one, which will have 3. Also, volumes 1, 6, and 10 will come as collector editions with metal boxes.

My question: is the show worth spending 260 (DVDs only) to 300 (with boxes) dollars on? I have only seen through 13 (on Adult Swim) so I still do not know a lot of the later developments. I know the box sets won't be released for years, so is it truly worth getting them all now?

I would have to say that its worth it because if the boxes arent coming out for a while then why wait when you can get some now

if you dont pay that much for it. if you look around on the net you can download all 51 eps for free(they are usually in japanese with subtitles).
but, its always good to pay for it to support the companies who produce it. if you really like the show, buy it. i spent nearly $300 buying the twelve Saiyuki DVDs....

I wish I could. I'll probably just get it for free and spend the rest on cosplay.

if you dont want the collecters tin you could just wait till the put it in a complete set those are usally cheaper

Dvds are getting so expensive these days...so to save money then I agree with Escaflowne.

I my self havn't seen very many of the FMA eps either but see after i seen the first two i seen i just got hooked on so i bought volume one about two weeks ago and i think it is worth it to buy the whole set.

no i don't think you should get it because its not worth paying all of that money on the dvds
