There are a lot of art thieves on this site!!

This really bothers me... a LOT of artists (many of whom are my friends) have had their art ripped by this site.
I'm very certain that this behavior is illegal.

Most of the people whose art has been ripped are from deviantART, at least to MY knowledge.

I probably didn't find all of the stolen art, either. And I was only looking for InuYasha art; I'm sure I'd find a lot under other animes as well.

I'm really disappointed to see so many thefts. Especially the ones where the original picture was altered.

No matter HOW MUCH you desire to use a pic, and even if your intentions are fine, you CANNOT post another person's work unless you get permission. I know that most of the above artists are adamant about not letting thieves steal their art. There are no excuses for this.

I hope something is done about this. Even if your policies don't ban this from occuring, copyright laws do.

Hmm... still got 56k so i didnt see all of those pics so i don't know where all of them were used but some of the ones i saw were from a topic called funniest inuyasha pics. or something like that. the person posting them didn't claim to have made them or doctored them she simply found them and posted them cuz she thought they were amusing. other than that i dunno but i doubt that the mojority of people here would actually purposefully steal another persons artworks, especially since a number of people here do their own work and know what its like to get thier stuff jacked.

Posted a few of Paka myself.. and all the girls went crazy.. unfortunately they caught on to me.. and were major disappointed when I told em Paka was some Millionaire living large some where.

This could use a toss over to Site Issues, if it pleases the mods ^^ Issues such as these are worked out over there (happened before, though I don't recall the solution).

It is not okay to post anything even if it it has a signature on it. YOU DID NOT GET PERMISSION FROM US!
I had two of my pictures stolen here, and no one asked me to post it or even gave me credit for creating them.
We can take legal action against anyone who steals our work. I suggest that if you have stolen artwork in your gallery, you remove it right now or face Section 504(c)(2) damages as high as $150,000.
I take my work seriously, just as many artists do, and we have legal rights over our work, kids.
I won't spend 10 hours on a piece just to have someone steal it from me.

I fear thee, internet artist. The moment you made that drawing into a .jpg file and posted it on the 'net, you gave up all those rights.

Feeling protective over your art? Don't post it on the internet then. Jesus Tapdancing Christ, it's not that hard.

1. Issue reported. No need to argue it. Thread closed.
2. Per the GNU Artwork License: Any images released onto the internet may be copied for modifcation or reuse. If modified, original creator must be credited. If copied, no credit must be given.

I'm pretty sure Deviant Art followed GNU policies and licenses. Final say will be left to Kaitou Ace and Princess Minako.

I would just like to note that we do not allow artwork to be placed on a member's gallery if the artist does request it be taken down. The GNU simply provides reason for the allowance of posting the image. If you are the original artist of an image which another user has posted, and you wish it to be taken down, then please contact the member. If the member ignores your request, please contact Princess Minako or Kaitou Ace with a link to your original artwork and a link to the member's posting of that same content.
