Rpg's for haters?

I have never liked rpg's in my life but im willing to try any genre or agme. So what are some rpg's a hater might like and dont say final fantasy because i have a bone ddep hatred for square soft ever since the enix thing. I have played and enjoyed final fantasy 7 (what a shock i know) and tactics. As well as advanced wars but few others. And i hated paper mario so any suggestions?

Star Ocean. Any of them. Insane with all the weird items you can gather, make, change... It's fun.

You should give Kingdom Hearts a try, even if you hate square it is still a very good game. If you can find Thousand Arms for PS1 then you should play that, its wierd but its fun. And any mega man legends game would be a good one to pick up. If I think up anymore I will let you know.

I have it wasent to bad actuly i enjoyed the skill based battle system but around the second disc it got bogged down in text boxes. Hey any one hear anyhting about parasite eve?

Play Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy X-II, if you are into looking at some pretty nice-looking chicks dress and fight at the same time. LOL. Ah...don't hate on Rpg games, not ALL of them are bad. ^_^

Yeah, I hear that text boxes are what scares away most non-rpg fans. Me, I adore them, the more story the better!

See i cant stand all of the story and side quests simple is better to me. I dont think ill be getting kingdom hearts any time soon because im aa known horror fan and i cant stand disney characters because of that. The reason i asked about parasite eve is because its supposed to be a horror rpg! I played some of it back in 2000 but i remember very little.

I can't stand disney characters either, but I'm not a horror fan. I'm afraid I've never heard of parasite eve though.

Parasite Eve is basically Square's version of Resident Evil with FMV's. Not as scary but it gets a small nod.

Chrono Trigger
Valkyrie Profile
Suikoden I and II
Grandia I and II

I like the Suikoden series a lot (II is my favorite RPG) but I'm not sure if someone who's not too fond of RPG's would like it. So ....

same here, pretty much hated RPG's for most of my life. KH kinda got me a little more into the genre because it was a cross between RPG and platformers(more my style)

still not too big into the rpg genre but eh...

RPG=Role Playing Game

You are given a character, most of the time you name him/her. And basically go about your mission anyway you want. You can talk to people, level up your character, buy weapons and armor and potions, or just go have fun. That is a basic definition for you.
