My favorite final fantasy always has been and always will be final fantasy 6. I loved the storyline... hated the villain and loved the characters. When I play it, I'm just driven to keep playing until I beat it... it's awesome finding a game that'll do that.

I must have answered this question three times already but I never get tired of expressing my opinion. I would have to say that FF7 would be my favorite. I still haven't beat the emerald and ruby weapons yet though, I am kinda dissapointed in myself for that. Tactics is also pretty cool. FF8 and 9 were alright because of the card game and 9 had good side quests. 6 is good because of its story line. See, a hardcore FF fan won't care about graphics, as long as the stroy is great and gameplay is great, it will be a great game. They could still have the same grahics as Tactics and I would still love the series.

I'll review all the Final Fantasy games I've played briefly:

IV - Not the greatest storyline ever, but the characters were imaginative and fun enough. The game was actually challenging, which, of course, is always a good thing. Not the greatest, but still a fun game.

V - A huge improvement over IV in my opinion. The job class system was very fun and gave the game much more depth and replay value. The characters were all well done I feel, even if the dialogue wasn't. Good music in this game too, and some scenes were very emotional. Probably my third favourite.

VI - Wop wop wop! Kefka was more amusing than compelling as a villain to me. Good game, though I couldn't help think that, with the amount of characters, that some were neglected. Cyan, Celes, Leo, Edgar and Locke were all very well done, especially the backstory behind Locke. A little on the easy side, but still a mighty fun game.

VII - The first Final Fantasy game I played, and it absolutely blew me away at first with the three discs, but I quickly got stuck in. Very enjoyable game, even if the villain sucks (heh). Probably my second favourite Final Fantasy game. Amazing OST.

VIII - Now this is a real under-rated game. I admit, it's one of my least favourite RPG's, but that by no means requires it to be a bad game. Personally, discs 1 and 2 were done better than the latter two. I think Edea made such a better villain than anyone else, and whilst the plot twist about her was a bit cliche, it was interesting to find out her past. Edea is probably the best character in this game, the scenes involving her were very well done. Great music here too.

IX - Here is the best RPG I've ever played, hands down (even if my name my suggest otherwise). Great music here, especially any tracks to do with Kuja. Kuja is probably my third favourite villain of all time (only Elle Driver from Kill Bill and Darth Vader from Star Wars manage to beat him. Though a lot of characters from the Wheel of Time series are very imaginative and come close) and just generally owned. His whole narcicisstic feel and style just made him great (even though he was hardly challenging) The story was so well done and so were the majority of the characters (despite Freya, one of my favourites, being neglected for the second half of the game, and nothing in particular going on for Amarant). Very well done. The whole sequence towards the end of disc 3 is probably my favourite in any computer game ever.


X - Probably my least favourite. Anyone who has read Video Game Recaps FFX will understand why I name Tidus "Tightass" in any future play-throughs. I think the voice acting was well done, on the most part, but some characters weren't. Yuna wasn't, particularly, and nor was Tidus. Auron, Lulu and Kimarhi were saving graces though. Auron was probably the best developed character in the game, and the one I liked the most. Still fairly fun to play, however.

TA - Tactics Advance was fairly fun to play, though I've heard it's not as good as Tactics itself. And it's not as much of a real RPG.

So, in conclusion:

IX > VII > V > VI > VIII (discs 1 and 2) > IV > VIII (latter 2 discs) > X

FF3 wasnt for the NES...it was for the SNES...and i dont see it much but FF3 is one of the BEST Final fantasy's there is. I don't see how its funny...i could play that game forever!
