First experience of seeing a well-dubbed anime

Anyone who has watched some of the earlier anime dubbing jobs will know that the business got off to a rocky start. But what is your earliest memory of seeing a dubbed anime that had little to no editing, and a well-translated storyline and dialogue?

well, i´ve seen good dubbed works but not in English... actually I dont´like to see anime in English never ._.U cuz they do really bad selections in what it refers to cast members at dubbs .___. so...

Cowboy Bebop really stand out. Its fatastic, although I am very tolerant of most dubs. I appreciate the work that goes into them, especially after meeting and tlaking with Mrs. Tiffany Grant.

I'm personally tolerant to dubbed animes, myself. To me, translations come first, then voices.

I would have to say Inuyasha, myself.

the only anime that i actually prefere the english voices over the japanese.
(mostly cuz i like Ed better in English)

I remember I downloaded a really stupid scene from that Love Hina or whatever it's called....man...it was so pathetic it wasn't funny...

I don't even think they tried to dub with consideration lol....

I have actually seend a well dubbed anime in the form of the Ruroni Kenshin OVA's. I actually enjoyed the voice of Hiko in that more than his japanese voice. Creepy huh?

I have to say that I like Dragon Ball Z etc. in Engish more than Jap
Like, the sound effects are so lame in Jap
And their voices really suck, sound like whinging little girls or something rather than kick butt fighters....
Just watch that Legendary Super Saiyan thing...With like Brolli

Cowboy Bebop was dubbed very well in my opinion. I think Eds voice was done the best though. It just matches her character so well. Trigun was done pretty well too.

I still can't get over how constipated Vegeta sounds in Japanese

I haven't seen that much dubbed anime except what I own and what's being aired in Holland, but two things stand out. Akira and Burnup Excess

I'd have to say the original gundam series was translated pretty good...and I was watching VHS of that since I was a kid. I think they got Chars and Amuros voices done nicely.

I started off watching Ranma 1/2 dubbed on VHS. I still prefer watching Ranma dubbed. After watching Ah My Goddes with subtitles, I started to prefer subs.

Trigun, let's face it, a ci-fi western needs American voices. Plus, the american Vash was perfect.

here, we only see three type of language; either in Malay, Chinese (mostly Mandrin) or English 'cause the free TV (yes, it's free and they being paid via ads placement and gov. taxes, and that's why there are too MUCH ads in the TV!!) they rather focus on younger audience (min age 5 years). If the anime are in English or Mandrin, they will put Malay subtitle (a must). We don't have a chance to watched the original version (undubbed and uncut) ok, 'nough explainin'. I my yearly 22 years watching anime aired on TV, some are rather good or must are so -so but one anime have a good dub (in Mandrin) with a good sub it's called Cooking Master Boy and a very old and popular anime Robotech/Macross (all 3 version; the original, The Southern Cross and Mospeade) in Malay and English. Ahh.. those are the days

Info: Two hottest anime in 2002 has hit M'sian shores:
1) Naruto (currently enterring episode 6)
2) MS Gundam SEED (currently enterring episode/Phase 03 showing on Sat and Sun replacing the famous DB,DBZ and DBGT time slot)

The weekend morning will never be the same.... Hahaha!

I liked Cowboy Bebop's and Trigun's dubbing rather then their orignal. But in most Animes I prefer to see the subbed version because I feel it is how the characters were meant to sound.
