Why do you watch anime???

In anime anything can happen. It is bigger than life. A place of dreams come true. The art of our soul. A skill ...anime...

Was raised by a tv so naturaly tom & jerry gave me morals to live by and bugs bunny taught me my abc's. Laid eye's on violent toons called transformers and so began my odyssey of anime.

I watch anime cuz it's an "IN thing", right? Truly, I love anime so much cuz it's fascinating. Everything is posible in anime. Whatever you imagine? no matter how unreal it is in true life, is somewhat for real in anime. Also, anime is entertaining, relaxing & even inspiring...

hmmmm i watched dragon ball z but i never heard of anime then and later my cuz used to talk about naruto and bleach so i wanted to watch it and after that i am what i am now-totally addicted to anime

the first anime that i watched was i think, either dragonball z or yuyu hakusho(ghostfighter)..

i really was hooked up when i started watching those anime..

I watch anime for a good story plot, lovable characters and for the obvious...somehting to do!

I watch anime because I find the plots more interesting, the character development more detailed, and I enjoy drawing the characters. Even in the better cartoons produced in the states or elsewhere, there are only a few I have enjoyed so perhaps I'm just too picky. There are some anime shows that do not hold my interest, but the ones who do keep me hooked. They seem more realistic and I relate to the plots and characters better.

i started watching anime because i got fruits basket the manga and i wanted to hear their voices. fruits basket is my fave anime and i like it because it has a easy plotline that doesn't confuse me!

I watch anime for all the fantasy stuff. Well, not magical fantasy, but more like... because it could never happen in real life. The fact that I could pilot a giant robot... or the fact that I could travel back to feudal days... or the fact that I could use alchemy to my advantage. There are so many things that anime depicts, that cartoons can't come close to.
Anime sometimes also creates a statement. A good example would be Gravitation. Some of us think it's just love between two males, when really, I think, it's trying to say that it's okay to be who you are ^^! Or Naruto, if you keep trying your best, you can get somewhere really far... regardless of how you look, act, fight.

Another reason, is because there are people on it who are much more beautiful than we'll ever be XD!

-The first anime I ever saw was Sailor Moon.
-I really can't say which series got me hooked...I had been into Sailor Moon for a while, but it was the only anime/manga series I knew. Then I met someone with a literal "Manga Library" and that's what got me hooked...her! (Thanx Mandie! )
-And why do I like/watch anime? I don't know...I'm interested in it! It also gets me interested in Japanese culture, history and language...it's goo to have a hobby!

"Why?" What a broad and silly question. Can one ever really know why they do anything? Well, I know my first animes included Little Nemo, Speed Racer, Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing, and many others I'm sure no one will remember. I feel so very old here.

Generally the stories are more involving than live action shows or movie, mostly anyway. Plus since it's animated you can have lots of action on a regualr basis. I honestly don't know what the first anime I have ever seen was, I know vampire hunter D was one of the first, and I'm pretty sure the first I saw that wasn't on tv.

I started my anime with old saturday morning shows(first season Pokemon and Digimon, Visions of Escaflone[the first good anime I saw]). Never minded it much till we got cable and I watched [as] and Anime Unleashed. However both have since degraded. ANIME UNLEASHED PLEASE SHOW LAST EXILE AGAIN! Now I buy DVDs(sometimes) and mangas.

i watch anime because i have nothing else to do with my free time >.< anyway i manly watch anime because its entertaining also i really like great art work and sometimes animes have really good art work which i really admire.

does anyone remember the original astro boy? thats what did it for me when i was like 5 . however , in the pokemon digimon time , these type of shows were so over done (pokemon should be cancel , good at first , but got to go) it turned me away form anime for a while , but watching dragonball z brought me back!
