I just picked up a book at the store called "Rejected princesses". basically it's based on a website where they discuss the important women who got edited out of history because frankly they scare people. Or whose accomplishments were toned down. For example everyone knows Harriet Tubman ran the underground railroad. Few were told about the plantations she burned to the ground.
Did you know Greek oil wrestling was supposedly invented by a female?
Mercedes De Acosta was very popular around Hollywood back in the black and white movie days.
The Virgin Mary apparently came back from the dead to meet St Rose of Lima.
Alfhild, female pirate captain. (One of many)
Kaʻiulani last princess of Hawaii who revived surfing among many other accomplishments.
Robert Shirtliff AKA Deborah Samson (fought in the Revolutionary war)
Can you name a few? What did they do?
