Whenever people talk about music, they always talk about what they like and eventually what they dislike. Got a artist, band, genre, sub-genre, trend, or something else you really hate? Well here's your soapbox! Tell us what you loathe in the Music World and why.


For me, I really hate that most R&B artists have 50%-75% of their album filled with crappy group-ups with Rappers/Hip Hop Artists. Don't get me wrong, Rap and Hip Hop are alright, but come on make more of your own music before forcing me to listen to another crappy mix of you and some random Rapper. It's even worse when it's a R&B Artist with a lot of talent that has to let 2-5 rappers interject on the song before the refrain even comes in. I'm fine with one or two songs on an album, but when over half the album is featuring some random dude and it's not even a tribute album to someone else I feel it's just wasting my time.

I hate nearly everything about the modern music industry. It's all the same fake generic crap "sung" by disingenuous people who care about nothing other than money. It takes no effort or passion anymore. Wanna be a famous musician? Just add a generic dance beat and simple lyrics. Boom, number 1 hit. You see all of these clearly fake artists put up on pedestals, but the ones who are actually passionate and work their tails off from nothing are the ones who struggle to succeed. It really sucks seeing so many great bands out there who will never make it because they aren't generic enough.

I hate a lot of music. Most pop I hear is repetitive as all hell, rap in general tends to be very offensive towards different things/ideas/people, and country just gets on my damn nerves. I just really dislike the whole 'twang' thing.

But I think pop/rap/r&b is where more of my dislike aims towards, Im just so tired of watching these little tweens-early 20s twerking around all over the place. Now, granted, theres some pop artists I dont mind terribly much because I feel they bring something new and fresh to the table. Is it my cup of tea? No, but I can appreciate their work. I dont mind Lorde or Katy Perry. I'll put u with them if they pop on the radio.

I hate actual repetitive songs. Not like the song has a small verse and it's repetitive.. But take Rihanna's Work song. Every other line in the song is "work work work work work.... something something work work work work work.... something something work work work work work." I can't stand that ungodly level of repetitiveness.

I like a little bit from all genre's (even country and rap). But there's a point to where if it repeats too much in too short of time I want to just rip out the speakers. There's another song that did this but only at the end of the song.. He just repeated one line over and over and over and over and over and over again I thought the song would never end but I wasn't in control of the radio. The rest of the song wasn't bad but it was like a solid 1 min repetitive ending. (cough lazy).

I don't usually like country music, mainly the way it sounds and how depressing some of it can be.
But, that being said I don't really pay attention to the stuff that I don't like because I switch stations or just ignore it XD

Also, good artists that aren't I suppose known as well don't actually get paid a whole lot. Most of their funds go towards paying venues and travelling. I do agree with some of the posts already created. I get annoyed when the whole song is just a repetitive sentence or worse - word. And, I also feel like there is really no soul in a lot of pop singer's work. I agree though Omega haha I like Katy Perry too, but I mean, I was listening to her way back when she was on myspace and not as well known.
