Requiem From The Darkness

So I havn't been here in months, I popped in the other day, saw the halloween contest, and decided to do it. And I figured Requiem From the Darkness is THE best anime for the job.

Well, I figure its good, but decided to get opinions before I officially posted it in the contest.

I snagged the moon from the US official website, the image is taken off the dvd, did some recoloring, made the bg, and viola! beauty! (it did take me longer than that seemed though) ^_^

But I don't like that black border around the moon.

I like the moon idea..why didn't I think of that..lol It does look like an eye but my only concern with it is the black outline around the moon and maybe if you can make it a bit more fullness to look like an actual organ. lol Not saying it isn't right now,,just a bit flat to me. ^^ great job.

but maybe put in less highlight. but not to much. maybe just by 2-5% (which isn't a lot)

thanks for the comments. ya, the moon is a little flat, but its a pre-made picture, i guess you could say, and there wasnt too much i could do for it. as for the dark around the moon? i gave a ring around the moon. (you sometimes see them on clear nights) I guess i can adjust it so its not so sharp looking.

I went back to it, erased the black outline. any ideas on how to make it look not so flat?

that looks better.

erm.......maybe you can focus on the moon and emboss color it (if you can do that with the program you use). that will probably make it pop out. if you have that effect then just do a little bit. if you do it max. then it will look really bad.

The moon can stand out with a little more shadowing!
1) select the whole moon (so that the circle is fully selected)
2) slelect 'paint' and choose a brush with a faded edge. I usually use size 20 or 30.
3) lightly go around the white edges (bottom and bottom left) with the paint brush using a light gray color just barely on the edge (just enough to see a little gray)
