    Default English or American Accents

So I would like to know what accent you prefer while watching anime/cartoons.

I know some people may prefer the original language but I'm just curious. being from England I think my preference lies with American accents for the majority of protagonist and English for the Antagonist. What do you guys prefer?

    What?

    I'm guessing you watch dubbed?

I prefer American anyway. I'm from Wales and can't stand any accent British related (e.g. cockney or chav). Tbh I think American accents sound more like how people around me speak.

You seem confused from the initial 'What?'

Ye I prefer dubbed, I'm a little dyslexic so trying to keep up at times can be a ball ache.

Maybe I should visit Wales more to hear these Ameriwelsh accents.

I prefer American Accents for anime, but sometimes a different accent makes the characters personality more clear. And British Antagonists are always cool!

If it comes down to dubbing anime, I have no preference whether it's an American or British accent. What is important and matters the most is for the voice actors doing a good job and putting enough feelings behind the words for their character. I feel that the Japanese tend to exaggerate a bit more than when it's dubbed, but maybe that's just me.

I admit to only have seen the Avatar series in English. Anime isn't very popular over here in Sweden that I'm aware of, so I haven't found anything that is dubbed. I tried watching Sailor Moon in English, but that just sounded wrong. It was good in Swedish though. Such a shame that they only had the rights until episode seventy-seven or something right before they all went to the future with Chibi-usa.

I disapprove of dubs in general. I wish to experience the cartoon as the original creator intended it to be experienced.

    so, Gravity Falls? English.
    Wakfu? French.
    Chinese cartoons? Japanese.

I watch whatever sounds better. If both subbed and dubbed has good voice acting, chances are I'll probably watch both at some point.

When I do watch the occasional dub (usually on shows like One Piece where the dubs are awesome), I prefer an American accent and that's probably because of the fact that I'm just used to hearing American voices and they usually have a better impact on me in understanding emotion, but I'm okay with hearing both.

Though usually, I don't exactly watch dubs because I like to watch the shows the way that their creators intended them to be.
