Not meant to advertise, but would anyone know good ways or places to spread the word about a visualnovel fan-page? Thanks in advance.

You can use hashtags on Twitter.
Using hashtags to categorize Tweets by keyword: People use the hashtag symbol # before a relevant keyword or phrase (no spaces) in their Tweet to categorize those Tweets and help them show more easily in Twitter Search. Clicking on a hashtagged word in any message shows you all other Tweets marked with that keyword.

you could say f*ck the rules and just spam that sh*t on every forum in existence.
Well the key to more followers is to follow others. The thing about Social Media is you have to follow to receive unfortunately. And hashtagging a word does not mean that only your followers will see it. Maybe someone is out there searching for that on twitter and if you and other people are hashtagging the visual novel then you are bound to get more hits. Although be aware of the 140 character limitation. Facebook may be your go to, also blogs are a great way, and other Anime communities. If you really want to build the know of this you are going to have to attack all facets of Social Media.

That is the beauty of a hashtag or even an @Solomore type of post. If you send out a message to say Viz or TokyoPress with the #graphicnovel then not only will you see it, but anyone that visits that page on the resepective side will see your post. So those are just some other ways to kind of spread the word. I have a degree and Brand Advertising/Communication :P
Spamming forums will just get you banned from those sites and you'll never be able to build up a reputation on any of them.
One way to get likes on facebook is to maybe pay for it for about a week and see if you get interest (it's not worth spending money beyond that imo), but also make sure that if you're a member of anime communities to put a link to this novel in your sig. It is always best to do that on sites that you are a genuine member of because people will be more interested in checking it out when they already recognise you as a member. Provided the content you are linking fits the rules of the forum and isn't linked to other anime forums or illegal downloads, no one should mind.
