Who do you relate to most?

In anime, how you relate to a character can considerably assist the enjoyment of the story. Who do you relate to most in the anime you've seen?

For me it would have to be Ryoji Kaji from Evangelion. He seems calm and collected, always joking. But he is just as vulnerable as everybody else... he just hides it better.

I'd probably hit some kind of text limit if I tried to list out the similarities I share with that guy. In reality, most of it is probably projection, but that's the fun of imagination.

I usually relate more to non-anime characters more than anime characters:
for example Sherlock, the Doctor, and princess Elsa.
but if i had to pick an Anime character i relate to the most it would be any one who has secrets and is afraid of rejection.
I think the time traveler from Madoka fits a bit, I have always had severe social anxiety but i don't usually watch anime related to that, i feel great empathy for characters who shut people out either emotionally physically or both. I identify with every character in Code Geass in some way, which is why i enjoyes it so much it like the swirling storm of emotions inside myself even the struggle between lelouch and his father because each of them remind me of a different aspect of my self.

I have a hard time finding a character I can truly relate to, but if I were to choose one I would say Shinji Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion. He is held back, avoiding human contact, doesn't really believe in himself, and he does what he is told. I used to be like that for a long time. Didn't really have many thoughts of my own, but I did evolve, and I like to believe he did too.
I have had many dreams, though, and now I'm trying to live them. Searching for my own strength, I dare say

I'd say I can relate to Mirai from Kyoukai no Kanata by the way she acts how it's somewhat serious but still laid back.
