The Wall was originally written in Cantonese by Hong Kong band Beyond. It was used for the intro and ending themes for the infamous show 進め！電波少年 (Susume! Denpa Shounen, the forerunner to Susunu Denpa Shonen) but in the early 1990s, Wong Ka Kui, the leader, wrote the Japanese version following his band's signing to a Japanese record label. Most vids featuring the Japanese version were filmed at a concert in He sadly fell into a coma and died on June 24, 1993 while filming an episode of a Japanese game show.
