must disagree, Deathblade. McDonald's burgers are disgusting, and i've often gotten sick from eating them. the only thing i order from McDonald's is a large fry every now and then.

Obviously, a lot of fast food chains do this, whoopty doo, it may be false advertisement, but who cares? As long as the taste is good, It's fine, I mean what true American doesn't like a nasty-looking, grease-induced, monster double bacon cheeseburger that equals the daily amount of calories two men are supposed to accumulate in a day?

I haven't eaten at a McDonald's in years. That crap barely counts as edible. I honestly don't eat fast food anymore unless I'm desperate. Not even Subway.

I watched the video and I don't think the process in the video would make the quarter pounder a "lie" they just showed how mcdonald's food photographers reconfigure the food to brandish the different qualities of the burger...I mean all and all its the same burger. It probably has exactly the same number of pickles as the next burger anyways..

In principle I believe false or misleading advertising is disingenuous, and frankly, an insult to the consumer; buuut at the end of the day, you get what you pay for.
I saw the video btw, and the only difference I noticed between the advertised burger and the typical burger was the presentation, not the actual quantity or quality of the ingredients themselves. Let's put things into perspective though: there's a clear difference between an advertised burger that strives to an ideal by rearranged ingredients and photo-burning, and a company (not necessarily MacDonald's) that passes horse meat as beef to cut costs at the expense of public health. McDonald's (if we're to believe that video) has not lied about its burgers, at least not technically. Sure, the point of their advertised quarter pounder is to create the illusion of a perfect product that looks more substantial than it actually is, but nonetheless, it's the consumer's choice as to whether or not they buy into the illusion, or take a little time to consider how a real-world fast-food burger could possibly look that good within a preparation time span of 3 minutes--or rather 10 seconds if you remove the grill time.
From a more ethical standpoint I see where you're coming from; but you should also use a little common sense and be more realistic with your expectations as well. If you want a burger to be (relatively) cheap and ready in 3 or less minutes, don't expect it to look as good as its advertised counterpart, especially when it has been prepared by likely underpaid, pressured, and disrespected staff--and you know what they say: If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. A little logic should tell you that sold fast food will of course come at some expense of presentation (the only tangible difference between the advertised and sold burger as shown in the video and valid point of your argument), and therefore can not possibly look as good as the advertised ideal. Otherwise, if you're concerned with how your food looks as much as it tastes, I'd avoid the fast food route altogether and consider ordering from a real restaurant instead; then if any part of your food does not meet your expectations, you can rightfully complain about the service, because in a restaurant that's what you pay the extra premium for.
