Some kids just melt your heart! I first met a sweet family outside the drawing class. The family had one of our new DAS cards where my fellow cast member Kathy was very sweet to set them up for the next drawing class. I learned that the family would be taking my drawing class and that the little boy had Aspergers syndrome. I learned It had already been a tough day for them. I knew in my heart that i wanted to do something special for this family. I met the little boy before we went into the class and shook his sweet hand. I sat them up front and close to the end of the row just in case they needed to leave early. The little boy chose Mickey Mouse and he had a sweet little sister who wanted to draw Pluto. The family decided we should do Mickey. The mom started to cry when she was talking about how great the little sister has been on vacation and how patient she was with her big brother. We drew Mickey in class and I gave my drawing of Mickey to the family. I pulled out an extra drawing of Vanellope for the little girl (i wanted to make sure little sister was recognized ). i put on it "You're my special hero". We took pics at the end of the class and the mom started to cry again/could tell it meant a lot to the family. I received the sweetest hug from the little boy we were making magic for. the moment totally melted my heart and made me shed a few tears after they left.
