What would you do if you found the currency in which you use on the ground? Would you spend it?
Oh, and this is a mass portion of money you're finding. Not a few "dollars".

If it's just money, I would keep and spend it. If it was with a wallet, I would turn it in to the police to return it.

This may sound extremely rude, but the only reason I'd turn the wallet into the police if it had a picture of the family or person inside because I would feel extremely bad. I mean wallet or not, the money obviously belonged to someone so it is almost the exact same thing.

I'm skint, so yeah ... I'd probably take the money. I mean, I found a random £10 in the street once, which was fun.
If it was in a wallet ... I'd probably take the money and put the wallet back where I found it. Haha! Yeah, I'm a total model citizen. I'm sorry, but in this day and age if you lose something if you get it back then you consider yourself lucky; if you lose your wallet in the street the only thing you can count on is getting the bank to cancel your cards. People around here get stuck-up with switchblades for iPhones and S4's, god-help if they find your wallet on the floor or a bus. :/

I say if there is identification to who the owner is, then yeah, return it.....you never know......it could be mafia or gang money
If there is no identification, finder keepers, but you never know if the money could be traced or could be marked by government agencies.
If I find it buried outside my house hiding after many years, then hell yeah, I am taking it. Not telling the world because the government will tax it like it did with a family in California that found gold in their back yard. Screw the system!!!
But depending on the amount, off shore accounts (Swiss bank account baby!!!!), here I come. Hell, if I found buried treasure in international waters, carribean accounts or accounts in Hong Kong, Macau, Abu Dhabi, and Sydney is where I am hiding those babies. Of course, I can buy an island that Greece is selling with that money and hide it there.

Goodbye college loans.
I think most people would do the same, shown by the comments alone. :P
Money IS money, and even a little can help you get by. I completely understand why people would take money out of the wallets if they found it, where I do think it is a bad thing to do, it is completely understandable.
I've always tried living by this saying I was told when I was younger. 'Treat people how you would wish to be treated'.
If I dropped a wallet, I would hope someone would return it to me with everything inside, hence I do the same. Following that saying doesn't exactly get you anywhere better with life, I feel it just makes me a better person. (not trying to say people who don't live like that aren't good people)

pay for my college tuition…
If it would be from a wallet and has a huge sum of my currency inside, I'd probably just take it. Since if you're carrying such a sum and still go arround so carelessly that you can lose it, you kinda diserve to :/.
People are struggling to get by all over the world and if that guy/woman walks arround carelessly as if it's pocket money than those bills are better of in my wallet of secureness.
As for what to do with the money, I'd save it up somewhere safe in case I'd need it one day. (That is after buying some things I've always wanted, but not really going overboard with it).
He's just a dandy guy, in space.
My friend did something good this past summer. He somewhat restored my faith in humanity when he did. One day, we stopped by the liquor store for some drinks, while walking back to his place to chill, my friend and I happened across a wallet on the ground near a local pub. He looked at the ID, contacted the number on this man's card stating he found his wallet. So my friend places the wallet on a secure spot behind the door handle. He never even bothered to look at the money, and neither did I. Coincidentally, a man from the construction company next door came to reclaim the wallet and thanked my friend and I for helping him get it back. So, despite being tight on money my friend showed real restraint and that to me reveals the kind of person he is. I'm glad I make friends with the right people.
Unfortunately, don't expect that sort of kindness from people these days. It's sad people aren't nicer to each other. If only that saying of yours got through to others.
Oh, Hi-deeki, imagine... your kind not eating raw fish! ^_^

i'd make an attempt to return the money to its owner, because that's what i'd want done for me. i try to live by a code, which is Treat others as you'd like to be treated.
i think anyone that just takes the money is supremely selfish. if you lost your wallet, only for it to be returned to you sans all cash inside, wouldn't you be fking livid? i wouldn't want that to happen to me, so i wouldn't do it to someone else.

What would you do if you found a real life anime character (not necesarilly looking like an anime character with the tiny pointy nose and huge eyes, but rather just the real life person who was an anime character that some how became real)? For example what if you met Hero Yui and he could prove it was him, because he really had a cool big-a$$ mech called Wing Gundam to pilot.

Most important thing is, keep it a secret, mostly especially from the government. I say they are bigger thieves for taxing it.

If its just cash, it's mine!
Kinda hard to keep anything from The Man around here. Bloody security cameras everywhere spying on you. They're only one Artificial Intelligence away from robbing us ourselves >.>; Problem is, it's either that or the teenagers... hard to figure out which is the greater evil.

I'd turn in part of it and hide the rest. If it turned out to be neither countefeit nor tracable by police, I would keep the rest. And hopefully get what I turned in back.
Anime is a lot like sex. Done right it's a beautiful act of creation that brings a little more light into the world. If it's sick and wrong... it's even better.
