(It has been quite a while since I last posted a poem on here, so right now I'm probably the rustiest person when it comes to writing. Here goes...)

Devil With A Halo

I’m singing the sad song
Was I wrong?
Or is hope an illusion?

Halos at sunrise
Talons at sunset
Nothing but revelations

But I kept going on
Holding on
Wishing with desperation

The dark memories
With the haunting dreams
Destroyed his inspiration

He’s my devil with a halo
With broken wings
Consumed by misery
Distorted melody

And I keep singing to myself…

Is the promise of love
Somewhere there
Waiting for recognition?

Will it be enough?
Coz this road is tough
Can’t fall into submission

Coz behind the thick walls
A child hides
Wishing for absolution

My beautiful rose
With its deadly thorns
Haunted by desolation

He’s my devil with a halo
With broken wings
Consumed by misery
Distorted melody

And I keep singing to myself…

The storm will soon calm down
Keep waiting
Embrace his domination

He keeps asking me
Why the world is cold
Feeling lost in abstraction

At nights I may have cried
But I try
Seeking justification

A couple of times
I would have quit but
His eyes say adoration

Wow that was deep. It would be easy to compose into a song as well, considering you like to create lyrical type of poems. And I'm not just saying this, but it was inspiring.
