Geass Contract VS Deathnote

Okay, gather round Code Geass and Deathnote fans (Or anyone, really), it's time we had a little talk about these two powerful elements! As you all know, I'll be going based on Lelouch's Geass, so these two things can actually kill people! Which one would win, though? I personally think it all depends on how they go about this. All Light's deathnote can do is kill people, but Lelouch can order people to wreak havoc, then kill themselves. But then, would this be considered a battle in the first place?

The death note CAN control people, as long as its in their power and possible to do so.This is a good one, because the geass is good at close range but ineffective at a distance. Where the death note is effective at a distance and non effective up close. I'm seriously having a hard time choosing. I think if you play your cards right, the geass would be better. Though depending on how you went about it, they both could be as good as each other.

I guess it all depends on how one uses their intelligence to overcome the other's power? I'm guessing, because both powers are strong, so the only way they'd be able to beat the other is if they use their brain. I'm having a hard time, too. I think it would be at a stand still for a long time, at least until one of them slip up, but the chances of that are really slim.
