Cheating?

No matter the context whether it be on t.v or in real life, cheating is wrong anyway you look at it. There's absolutely no excuse for it, and I don't blame you for feeling bothered by it. I am too, yet at the same time, I seem to hear of it happening often. For me personally, I can't begin to understand why someone would feel the need to cheat in their relationship. If you don't want to be in a relationship anymore, why don't you just break up? Sure, it's difficult, but there's no need to start seeing someone else and make matters ten times harder then they need to be.

I'm ranting a bit, but I hate it when people cheat. It's one of those things that just absolutely irritates me.

I too, become irritated. For a while I thought it was a teenage/young adult thing. But it can occur in any age.

I think some people are just greedy or stupid. They think they can have everything they want or they are stupid enough to think they wownt be found out.

If I am being honest, if it's in my friendship group then I slightly care, but if it's anywhere else it's really none of my business, sounds harsh but not my problem really.

From my personal experience, it is honestly the most hurtful thing someone can do to you. And not only does it destroy the relationship in question, but it can effect future relationships because you are left with 'trust' issues.

On Tv? Not really to be completely honest, but if it happens to someone I know in real, then yes. Cheating is obviously very wrong, but people often perform the act out of rage/greed/falling out of love. We all make mistakes, but IMO once a cheater, always a cheater. In most cases anyways.

I have had a large portion of my life turned around by this on separate occasions, the first being my father who when I was about 3 maybe 4 years old cheated on my mother, and was found out soon after. During this time he had several "encounters" with his mistress or whatever you want to call her, needless to say somehow my mother found out and that was the end of the days with my dad (He was a drunk on top of it). I was to young to know or remember any of this so I'm just going off of what I've been told, but I know from meeting the pig in person that it seems like something he would especially if he was drunk when "tempted" to do such things.

The second account was even more personal then the last as in it was directly related to me and my ex. Around four years ago in my freshman year of high school I met a girl named Maggie, I knew her from like elementary school or maybe sixth grade but we didn't really KNOW each other. Neither of us had really known any of the people in our classes either so naturally we sat near each other out of sheer recognition for one another. Well over the next few months we became friends (Good ones at that) and about half way through the second semester we got "Involved".

To make things shorter, our relationship grew pretty steadily for the next three years. And I thought things were going smooth and well, when I one day went over to her house without calling (I wanted to surprise her with a necklace I bought for her because I finally got a job and could buy my own stuff.) and that was the single worst moment of my life. Her parents weren't home or anything, and I let myself in because the door was unlocked. Well I get to her room only to walk in on her in the act with this guy. Right in the spot we once "layed together".

The amount of rage, sadness, and depression that filled me all at once during that moment is so much I can't even describe how it felt in words. I simply left her to go back to my house and tried my hardest not to cry, all this time I was under the impression that we were in love, but turns out only I was... I know I'm not the best loking guy, but god damn it I tried my hardest to be a good one, sadly that ended I misery. Maybe if she would have just broke things off with me sooner or something it would have been better than this.

Ever since then I haven't been able to find any way to approach relationships rationally. I don't want to go through that ever again, I mean it still hurts several months later. I don't know when or if I'll ever get over this, but I know now more than ever why I hate it. To me cheating is worse than killing the other person, the pain is just as deep as a bullet and lasts far longer in terms of pain.

This being said I hate cheating when I see it. Whether it be someone I know, or just on TV/anime I can't help but have a new found level of hatred for anyone that could do such a thing. It's despicable and disgusting.

TL;DR

I've had some bad experiences in my life that no doubt influence my opinion. I hate to see it and I think anyone capable of performing such a revolting act deserves the worst possible fate, and I wouldn't feel sorry for them no matter what it was. Those who cheat deserve the pain they cause others tenfold.

Well like many I always took a hard line on the subject. From a distance it seems pretty cut and dry wrong, and like many have said above what possible reason would it be ok? Never thought I'd be in a position that this would come up, but I can see the grey area now. And not to get too deep into my personal problems, but ending a relationship can be pretty hard. More specifically cost you thousands, loose your house and the ability to buy another house for years, other posetions possibly trucks, tractors and boats, and quite possibly friends and family including your own children. Is it worth sacrificing all that, so one can find love again or should one remain together forever in limbo with someone they do not love in a bad, stressful relationship? Its been over three years since I really contemplated a divorce, but just can't pull the trigger and open up the possibility of loosing so much. Sometimes I wish I would find the perfect gal, would make the decision a little easier. At this rate I'll probably never get divorced and miss out on being in love. I can see how some would probably cheat if they were in a similar situation, and to be honest I don't know if I could blame them. If they have been through some rough times, I'd at least give em the benefit of a doubt.

I mean with me, I really dont like people who cheat. Unless they're friends of mine its different butt I would look at them differently. I would be bothered by it for a few days like, why did he/she cheat and stuff like that. Oh and sorry for not responding on this thread.

I dont get so much irritated when its happening in tv or soap. Although i do feel sorry for the soap characters or film characters who been cheated on (yes, i know they arent real, lol).
But in real life... basically what i think is that who cheats is a feckin'horrible scumbag type of person and if i know my friend has been cheating on hes/her partner i know never to trust them and my opinion of them goes so so so low.
it is the single worst thing that you can do to another person.
No matter whats the reasonings for someone, if you love someone and respect yourself as well, you never feckin ever do anything like that.
Damn, ok, now writing this all i am getting angry and pissed off at cheaters.

I completely disagree. What difference does being married make when it comes to cheating? Whether you're married or in a relationship, when you cheat on someone, it still hurts and it's still very damaging. As some of these people have said, they suffered depression and had difficulties trusting people because of being cheated on. When you cheat on someone you hurt their self-confidence, faith in people, and just leave them with large amounts of pain.

So the very idea that it's okay to cheat 'as much as you want' because 'you're not entitled to that person' without having any regard for another human being's feelings is egocentrical and disgusting.
