But i will say that disagree with the practicality of feet gallons and the like. how are those units more practical than metric? US uses them simply because the nation has proven several times that it is entirely resistant to change if for no other reason than it is difficult.

I suspect a number of such units will stick around, generally in proportion to how useful they are and how cumbersome a metric unit would be.

For example the acre is the area a farmer can plow in a day with a yoke of oxen. Practical in its time, not so much now.

However I doubt we're going to see hours or days replaced by kiloseconds anytime soon. But maybe if we achieve faster than light travel so most people are no longer on the Earth it'll happen.

Depends where you live.

But unless your dream was olympic vollyball or women's basketball I don't think being short is a problem for females. Is it?

I haven't had to sleep in a bunk bed for a long, long time. My head is in pain just thinking about it though.
