I just dont see them coming out with a new "light" type, especially since there is no Dark type in Japan, its "Evil" type, so light wouldnt really make sense. The only ones I can see it being are- bug [designed to look like a butterfly], flying [the ribbons could help it fly somehow] or dragon [theres a few 'pretty' dragon types].

Coupled with the fact that its the lightest of the eeveeloutions, it leans more towards it being a flying type. Theres a few flying types that dont have wings, so it wouldnt surprise me is thats what it turned out to be

Why do you guys quote with mentions, why? Anyway, here's the thing though, it doesn't have to be Light type, it could be "Good" in Japan, but second most popular guess is Fairy given it's name roots. The reason why I think it's a new type is because why else would Pokemon hide the type? With Eeveelutions you can always tell what type it it, so it's either Normal or New, I don't see why Pokemon would suddenly destroy it's pattern especially on Eevee line. I mean if it was Flying I'd expect to have something to give it away, maybe little clouds surrounding it like Ladorus' Therian Forme, Pokemon probably wouldn't make an Eeveelution that doesn't represent it's type well especially since that's the whole gimmick of Eevees (also lol@Ribbons helping it fly). Also Bugs are stupid and Dragons, well it doesn't look like a Dragon but it could be that. All the Eeveelutions have been "Special" types so far, the only "Special" type missing is Dragon, plus the Eeveelutions share the colour with its type, even Eevee but that's in it's Shiny Form, Sylveon has Pink and Blue, colours that are really close to the way Pokemon displays Dragon types, but then Sylveon looks nothing like a Dragon type and again it would ruin the line.

Pokemon got a little bit less creative after gen 3. Too pastel coloured and spastic. I like gen 5 pokes though (Not all but there were some great ones)

I think it's reverse, Pokemon started getting creative at Generation III, all the rest were pretty much un-original and sucky, though they did have some good ones like Togepi, Wobbufet, and Misdreavus in terms of originality.

Making it a fairy type would mean they'd have to go back and completely change the type of pokemon like Clefairy, something thats never been done and will never happen [adding a secondary type to old pokemon is not the same as completely changing its type. I dont see them simply tacking on 'fairy' to fairy pokemon, they'd be a pure fairy type].

If we look at Ninifia's other names, the base of them is Nymph. There are 5 nymph types- Celestial, water, land, plant and underworld. Celestial nymphs spend time in the air, again eluding to a flying type.


As for the colors, you could argue the second band on the ears are the same color as flying. However, something did stick out at me on one of the scans- it had sparkles...like a shiny pokemon. What if, to confuse fans, GF released the shiny form of Ninfia?

Oh yeah, the "ninf" from Ninfia is probably derived from Nymph, which are pretty darn close to fairies.

Rhyhorn and its group couldve been changed to steel, and *none* were changed/added as dark [to which there was a good amount of gen 1 pokemon that couldve been dark type].

And lets face facts, the 'evidence' for a new type is weak, very weak. Unless you can come up with something more concrete over speculation [given, I understand this is all speculation] then I think holding your breath for a new type is really pointless. A lot more speculation/evidence points to flying, not a new type.

Flying is weak too, you guys are trying to make something out of nothing, so what if Jolteon was across from Sylveon, it went from order of Eeveelutions not some pattern people hope is there, and the moves don't even look like Flying type, if anything right now, it looks like a Normal type, Flying is idiotic. And maybe Pokemon didn't think Rhyhorn could be a steel type, I know I don't, and the only Dark types for generation I see is the Gengar evolution line but that is still a very subjective area. What's not subjective is its name roots, the colours, and everything else that's always in an Eeveelution. That "if you do it, I'll do it" was aimed at everyone at general too, btw.
