Disney ripped off Nintendo, or Nintendo ripped off Disney?

Not sure which was made first, but one of these is certainly a ripoff of the other:
The Black Cauldron
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

In both you have a fairy that looks just like a glowing ball of light, a sword wielding hero in green clothes, and a blonde haired princess in pink and purple dress.


If you have any question about the similarities between TBC and TLoZ:OoT, just look at the screencap below from The Black Cauldron.

On the left you have a glowing "fairy orb" (very similar looking to Navi). Then just to the right, there is Princess Eilonwy (who looks very much like Zelda). And on the far right is Taran (who looks very much like Link).

The Black Cauldron is based on a Welsh story/book, like most Disney movies. So it really doesnt matter, Im sure both pulled from that source.

Disney released the Black Cauldron in the 85.

Like most Disney movies they're based off of previous works.

And like most Video Games they are as well, or at least have heavy influence. Nintendo's franchises aren't really that original....

You kinda find things like Journey to the West, The Water Margin, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and Red Chamber in all kinds of stuff.

And Disney is fairly popular in Japan.

i bought my 100% cotton green tunic from kokori forest and opened the temple of time with my ocarina to obtain the master sword, but no fairy wants to hook up with me. they say i'm too confrontational. all i did was back hand her when she kept saying "hey!" all the time.

So because of two similarities, it's a ripoff? I haven't seen TBC in ages, but I highly doubt it had time travel, a magical ocarina, goron, zora, etc. Secondly, of course he TBC guy has a sword. What story set in medieval times doesn't? And the TBC guy didn't have a fairy. The chick whose name I can't remember had a bauble that glowed and floated around. It didn't even belong to the main character and wasn't even alive. The only fairy that really travels with them is in no way anything like Navi from OoT.

So yeah, it's not really a ripoff of TBC.

I wouldn't say "ripped off" as much as inspired from if that was the case. A lot of points have already been presented and I'd only be repeating them

But to add in the whole comparison thing! A film released in 85 also has some similarities to LoZ:OoT and that is the film Legend

Yep, Zelda:OoT is a ripoff of PP too. Link even has Peter's pointy green hat. Looks like Nintendo violated quite a few copyrights with that game.

Okay, I smell a troll here. Peter Pan and The Legend of Zelda are only similar in the fact that the hero is dressed in green. Nintendo didn't copy Disney. The original Legend of Zelda is older than Peter Pan. Not to mention, you're only talking a out Ocarina of Time, which I'm beginning to think is the only Zelda game you've ever heard of. There was even an animated series about the Legend of Zelda. Nintendo didn't copy Disney, and while Disney probably has copied Nintendo at some point, this isn't on of those times. As a matter of fact, the only time I've seen anyone close to Link in a Disney movie was in Wreck It Ralph because it actually shows Link in the background.
