The best I've ever had is a pepperoni, olive, and breakfast bacon pizza. God damn delicious, it is. Pretty much ruined me for any other pizzeria.
Best pizza I've ever had was at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It was a buffalo cheese pizza and it was amazing.
So I made some pizza for the big game tonight...
Making the dough isnt hard - kneading and rolling it out is probably the trickiest part. I've been meaning to experiment with non-wheat grains but for this time I used some local whole grain organic wheat mixed with a little bread flour. Also used some local raw wildflower honey from the fellow down the road instead of refined sugar.
Also used my own sauce, made from my garden, along with my own venison italian sausage. Had to resort to store bought pep, onion, and bell peps though. Oh and a Breckenridge Christmas ale.
I usually make singe serve size pizzas in cast iron skillets. That way I can make each one however anyone wants, and it limits eating to much! I try to have a salad with it and maybe some hors d'oeuvres. Or I just eat two.
Ahh finished! And stepped up to my favorite beer of the winter, my last one until next year, Southern Tier's 2XMAS.
