Who of you is still on windows?

I use a variety of OSs as and when required or needed. Currently on Windows 7 64-bit Pro, as I have no need to use anything else. It provides me with Visual Studio and general gaming.

I do however have experience with the following distros:

- Zenwalk Linux
- Fedora
- Ubuntu (and its variants, e.g. Xubuntu)
- BackTrack Linux

I suspect I'll be returning to linux very soon for work purposes, whether via VMs or dedicated setups.

I'm still using windows xp, classic and 7.

I use my windows xp for most games, classic for emailing and 7 for my work. I've used apple once just for facebook and twitter :l

Windows 7 and 8 mostly. I don't hate osx, I just hate the price tag of apples hardware. I'm learning bits of debian Linux, but overall Im a windows user.

I use Windows XP Media Center 2002 at home. I once did have a Mac Mini, which I used for work for about 3 years, then it broke down and I upgraded to a Windows computer. The laptop that I am typing this on right now once ran Ubuntu, but I hated it, so I went back to XP. My workplace uses Macs, which I heavily disagree on, but life isn't fair. I also had a Commodore 64 when I was a kid.

I don't see anything wrong with using Windows. I've tried Windows 8 out before, but I didn't like its touch screen-like interface.

I use a mac for the past 10 years or so because I need to for the industry I work in. Uni made me get one and I've had one ever since. People are all like "WAAAAAAAAAAAAA MAC SUCKS" anytime I mention that fact. It doesn't suck, it's just way overpriced. That's the biggest downside, and due to the cost, if I didn't need one, I'd probably have stayed with windows. I have a macbook since 2007 and it's still going, although it does need some hardware updates. They are very reliable and a crash is extremely rare. I wouldn't go back to windows now, not after so long. I wouldn't even know what to do with a windows computer. XD Whichever OS you're used to working with is the one you'll prefer. It's subjective.

The price is a massive downside.

Windows 8. Does what I want it to do and that's all I want it for.

I've tried other operating systems which were good for developing purposes (I.E Linux with Ubuntu) and designing purposes (Mac's) but for my casual and everyday use, Windows.

what I didn't like about mac was all the software upgrades and expenses €€ and the fact that you can't run the upgraded software on an older mac operating system O_O it's as if they just want you to pay, pay and pay again. But every laptop in the stores run windows 8, and a mac is just way too expensive.

Just upgrade to 8. If you hate it, skin it back to 7 with something like Classic Shell.

I'll probably stay with Windows 7 now and forever. Until I someday get a mac in addition to ... or to replace (although, that's doubtful) my current laptop. Because I love my laptop.

I used to install OS's many times before.
I was curious to learn what this does and this. But then i stopped. Maybe i didn't want computer as a career, but its good to help people if they are stuck with a computer problem
So its very helpful.
To answer the question. Yes i use Windows 7 with XP Theme installed.
So it looks like XP but its really Windows 7.
