Ontopic: I wouldn't complain that shinies are more common. See, I've played Pokemon (to various degrees) since the original release of Red and Blue here. I own Red, Blue, Silver, Ruby and Soul Silver and beat all of them, played through my brother's copy of Fire Red, and I've played pretty much every one of the others apart from X/Y. That's a good ten-fifteen years in which I've been playing Pokemon, and at points I was sinking six/seven hours a day into training and looking for specific pokemon at the least.


Not once have I seen a Shiny. Not once.

Well here's a specific map of Lumiose City where Nintendo suggests you DON'T save your game if you want to avoid the bug. So in case you've saved in the streets before with no problems, it may because you were in a "safe" zone. (If it's not obvious, the blue gradient is where you want to avoid saving. The poké balls just indicate Pokémon Centers.)
