Lol only for pencil graphite. If a blending tool is used then it's ok. But doing it with fingers is pretty unprofessional. Info from (college art student/ pysch major) = on my way to being an art therapist.

Yeah, I get a piece of tissue, scrunch it up and rub with that to smudge. I find that kind of smudging very important when drawing realistic pictures, especially on skin. =]
