Currently I'm working on smudge practicing. Nothing fancy, just trying to get a feel for it a bit more. Maybe later today I'll work on another clay sculpture. We'll see.

Vector painting and a real painting in acrylics (portrait). Also, I am deeply invested in a 'Tag a Day' project on another board.

I need to work on a video editing project (which looks like crap, and I refuse to show it off).
Also in my typography class, I have to work on a brochure of a company (that is made up). That is something I will show off later on or so. I dunno...

Ooooh crochet was always fun to do. I used to crochet in middle school. I've thought about picking it back up and making a scarf or something ^_^ good luck. Maybe you can post it under artisan crafts when you're done

Going to use most of this day to practice more with my chibi clay charms. Make a few of the same character until they start looking decent enough so I can start selling them.

Currently I'm working on something I swore I'd never work on again.. Lol.. I started this project back in September and I'm just now picking it up.

So many things haha XD but I'm doing something new at the moment. I'm making 5 giant shadow puppets (about 4foot tall each) for a play at a local university. It's fun doing something so crafty rather than drawing and painting all the time. =]

I just actually learned that smudging is bad in the professional artists way. I'm working on using different marker shadings.

What do you mean by smudging being bad? Surely any technique that gets you the image you want in the end is good?

I think she meant smudging in like signatures and stuff
But one of my teachers said something about that ages ago. I never understood why though; I've seen a lot of artists smudge in drawings.

Not smudging itself if she's not using her fingers but fingers produce a natural oil which ruins them a bit. I use different types of paper after crosshatching to make it a solid shade. But this is just for graphite that i'm talking about. My finger oils have ruined pictures before and there is no way to remove the oil once it's there.

Lol only for pencil graphite. If a blending tool is used then it's ok. But doing it with fingers is pretty unprofessional. Info from (college art student/ pysch major) = on my way to being an art therapist.
