Don't know what it is exactly, but the patterns and textures just draws me in. Very unique way of vectoring!
I can tell you put a lot of effort into it, can't wait to see the finished result!

Great stuff so far! You have a real feel for the use of vectors / pen tool!
What I would like to see more of (nitpicking here,) is a little more depth in the illustrations. Whether its more contrast /shading to the figures or something as simple as some specular highlights. Kinda hard to also determine a light source in these, but overall they are very nice! But, with a little more "polish" to them they could be simply stunning!
