there is something about me and dreams. i hardley have dreams but here are 3 dreams i rember having.one dream i was in a white tuxido runing from the cops. the 2nd dream i was walking around shoting people with a machine gun and i was in a room and someone i though was dead bit me.this last one i had around when i was around 14 or 15 i was riding a bike downhill but the hill never stoped

I think there are periods in you're sleep where you don't dream, but everyone dreams... Just not everyone remembers them, I sure as hell don't. xD

IIRC this is how it goes. Sleep is divided in two different stages, deep sleep and REM (Rapid Eye Movement), in deep sleep your brain activity is I believe not very much, in REM however your brain is very active and you are in fact dreaming. Taking certain sleeping pills force you into a slouchy type of deep sleep which might result in having dreams not as often. So there might be conditions of people who dont dream that much.

Anyways this is just information grabbed from the corner of my brain. Whether you are dreaming and forgetting or not dreaming at all (or seldom) I dont know or whether thats even possible or not I dont know either ^^

That's because you take too much drugs. Bounces on your melatonin/serotonin levels lead to forgetting your dreams instantly or dreaming in limbo and insufficient rest. You're gonna be like us, munching delicious pills to sleep. Feels good to be limp all day afterwards.

I usually never remember dreams. The only exception when i do remember is, when i come in contact with something that can be linked to my dream. (A dream of the same day). Then im like "Oh i had a some sort of dream where this object or person was in". And then i leave it at that. xD

If a day has passed... then all the dreams i had will probably never be remembered.

i herd somewhere you cant read in your dreams. weird. iknow a good way to remember your dreams is to wake up slowly. dont move or open your eyes. lay still and think about what just went through your head. devises made to record dreams are real but not for the general populace. dreams are thought to contain meanings and sometimes dreams come true. the sleeping mind is a gift. i have herd of people able to travel arround in real time and seeing real events happining while they are asleep.
when i eat just before i go to bed i usualy have scary dreams. sometimes i will wake up to a loud noise and other people in the room awake say they herd nothing

I actually discussed my one recurring dream (maybe once a week or so) with a friend on Skype a week or two ago after she mentioned an odd dream of her own. Since I'm efficient (i.e., lazy), I'll just take a screenshot of our conversation, appropriately anonymize or remove her messages and name, remove the time stamps, and- Viola! Instant repost!



That dream is actually what introduced me to the wonderfully macabre humor of the life of Bokassa, who I have used as an avatar on AF before. I needed to identify him, and looked him up after that dream.

Other times, the attendant has also been a drunk Santa, with a red bag of rocks that he uses to threaten the restroom's visitors.

I want to keep a diary where I can jot down dreams I have the moment I wake up, but maybe the bad thing is if I'll do that, I'd be too tired to write them down. Sooo I'll end up forgetting my dreams again.

She'd already sent me an ODF file with another freaky dream of her own and by this point I was just responding with something relevant- you may want to try that yourself, by the way- but I'm not about to post her name or the details of someone else's dream without prior approval. That would be asinine at best.

Please recall that you all on AF here are basically just stepping into the middle of a conversation you didn't witness and lack the full context of things. I left out the other comments in play- before and after- because they weren't directly relevant to the story of my own dream, and because they revealed parts of hers and details of other things, most of which I would not presume to share without her prior approval.

She just has an understated way of evaluating the oddities of life. As with anyone, you become accustomed to their tone and mannerisms- even in text- only with sufficient exposure and interaction. Which- presumably- you lack in this case.

Besides, how would somebody respond to a description of that dream? Your own response didn't actually respond to my insane nocturnal imaginings either, did it now?

You forgot stages 1, 2, 3 and 4. Stage 4 sleep is often referred to as deep sleep because it is critically important in making sure you sleep "well", but no stage is actually referred to as "deep" (except as deepest of slow wave sleep). REM sleep does indeed keep your brain active. Very few drugs impair or interrupt REM sleep, and even fewer prevent it (a bad combination of drugs could do the trick though). If you are a human not on powerful prescription drugs (plural), then chances are you dream every time you sleep at night. Sometimes you won't remember it, but your brain definitely dreams.

I was just telling you my impression..you know..that certain feeling when person x writes paragraphs of text and person y gives a vague one liner response like "aha" or "that's soo interesting, go on". I can't fight the impression that person y is tl;dr'ing
it all.

Though I guess that I've lost my imagination because my dreams are more realistic now and I don't usually tend to remember most of them unless they involve a certain someone who shall remain nameless..VOLDEMORT.

Though I guess that I've lost my imagination because my dreams are more realistic now and I don't usually tend to remember most of them unless they involve a certain someone who shall remain nameless..VOLDEMORT.

Never dreamt about him before. But I have dreamt about Bellatrix twice, and Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy popped up in one of them. That first Bellatrix one was half "DAFUUUUQ??!?!?!" and half "OMH DO IT AGAIN!!!!" The second one with all three of them was sheer "....wtf?" and nothing else. Just really weird. It was like a six-part dream that would continue every time I went back to sleep and they were in one part of it. Soooo weird. o.o

I sometimes remember my dreams. Lately I've been remembering a lot of them. When I do, good or bad or just plain weird, I try to jot them down somewhere. If they're good or weird, then they're fun to revisit once in a while when you have nothing to do. If they're nightmares, sometimes it can help with making them not seem so bad because you read through them and they suddenly sound more ridiculous than scary/upsetting.
