Hey guys. I've been having a really hard time finding new books to read that aren't complete poop. I was wondering if you could help me out. Here's a list of some of my favorite books to help with the recommendations.

Try reading the Ender's Game saga by Orson Scott Card, or anything by John Green like Abundance of Katherines, A Fault in Our Stars, Looking for Alaska. One Second After is good as well.

If you're into vampire's there's the Vampire Chronicles series. I'd recommend starting with either The Vampire Lestat or Interview With a Vampire. Along the lines of Harry Potter there's the Circle of Magic and it's second set The Circle Opens.

I forgot about Anne Rice! I've read all of Tamora Pierce's books, including the Circle of Magic. They were very enjoyable.

A very little known gem who goes by the name of Garth Nix writes awesome books. Check out The Seventh Tower series and The Keys to the Kingdom. Or Shade's Children for a good quick Sci-Fi read.

If you're at all a fan of fantasy you'll want to read The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss. Most grounded, lower fantasy type books I've had the pleasure of reading.

Oh! Thanks for reminding me that I forgot to mention The Vampire Hunter D novels. There are 20-30 or so books and they're all very good.

Inheritance Cycle

Good series even though it was the storyline of the original Star Wars trilogy in a fantasy setting.

The only books that I actually gave a chance were the 3 Hunger Games books. I enjoyed them, Well all matter of opinion.

I never gave the movies or the books a chance. I have a natural repulsion to anything that becomes too popular. I'm a hipsterwolf and I'm allergic to mainstream things.

I am pleased to see the Hunger Games,so I don't need to reccomend them.

You maybe,just maybe,will enjoy the Guardians of G'Hoole and its follow up series the Wolves of The Beyond by Kathryn Lasky.Though it is for very specific tastes and is quite easy to read.

Or maybe the Missing series by Margret Peterson Haddix.One teen novel I read was Matched (I do not remember the author's name).I hope to read the sequel soon.But Matched was really good.It is sc-fi and future romance.

I also enjoyed the Search for Wondla by Tony Ditzerella.

(Keep in mind,all of these are meant for slighty younger people,maybe ten-12 year olds(with the exception of Matched,which is meant for teens) but they are all very good books (This is coming from someone who has read Pride & Prejudice,Jane Eyre,Gone With The Wind and Don Quixote,for FUN))

I've read the Keys to the Kingdom before but I'll have to give them a re-read. I will definitely read the other books you've recommended.

I didn't read through all of these posts so if this was mention already.. sorry.

Check out a guy by the name of Michael Moorcock. He wrote a bunch of books and was kind of a legend in his time. My favorite books of his that I think you will most assuredly like, were the Elric books. If I remember correctly there were 7 books. (EDIT Apparently there were more then 10.. Oops.) For a fast and good reader, it might have been a short series, but the whole thing was just an amazing read. Also his Count Brass series was pretty awesome too.

Also the original Robotech series by Jack Mckinney (this is actually a pseudonym) was pretty damn good.

If you really want to dig into some fantasy though, check out a series of books by Piers Anthony called Xanth. It's... Odd but enjoyable.

Holy crap. I just checked out Ender's Game and I just realized you're talking about NERDFIGHTER JOHN GREEN. OH MY GAWD. I've actually read one of his books (Will Grayson). I didn't realized he had written others.
