Shame I'm too old for Hallowe'en, and too poor to be giving out candy.

Tonight is "lock all windows and pretend I'm out" night. Because if I don't do that, it'll be "kids will get pissy and I'll be spending the next two days cleaning eggs off my windows" night, and I really do not want to have to go hunting for that bottle of Mr. Muscle.

We are SLOWLY starting to celebrate Haloween here in Australia, which I am not keen on. It's the beginning of summer and the days are getting longer so not very scary. Plus I hate the idea of becoming 'Americanized' since we already have a rich culture with our own holidays and celebrations.

Although my American friend did host a Haloween party the other night. She went all out and I enjoyed it as a kind of cultural experience (even carved a pumpkin!).

My little daughters were super cute while trick or treating, and I like getting to say hi to all the neighbors. I had a fun night.

I didn't know Halloween wasn't celebrated in Australia. I though all the anglophone countries had it, and that the hispanic countries had their day of the dead at about the same time.
