"It's not important to have a long life, the important thing is to have a happy life with your beloved ones"
This comes to show how bad the justice system in this country can be at times.
That is hilarious to me.
Wait until the daughter grows up and sues her own mother.
Seriously, I want to see that man's face and the baby to judge. xDD
Goes to show that the guy only married her for her good looks. How shallow.

There ain't no such thing as an ugly baby. And who cares what the lady looked like before. I can dig a ”fake” girl. Odds are, she probably underwent surgery for him, and that sad excuse of a man failed to think about the feelings of his wife.
I would have been on the guy's side if the baby's father was another man, but there is no other. So yep, this case is ridiculous.
I had to read the article several times just to believe that people can do such things... But if the article is true, then here's my take on it...
Firstly, it's abundantly clear to me that the man married the woman simply for her looks.
Secondly, I suspect that the man, besides being repulsed by his daughter's appearance, probably didn't want to be associated with his "ugly" child (especially in public, I suspect), and so he filed a technically passable lawsuit to conceal his true motives (The financial award being something of a bonus should he have won the case). In any event, I doubt that the man would have won the case if he had directly sued his wife for being once "ugly", but he could still legally "fix" his "issues" by exploiting an ill-defined, technicality of deception in law (at least in China anyway...). For all his lack of morality, it does appear that the man at least knows how to work the system.
The lawsuit itself (in this case, presummably: The civil action of the claimant suing the defendant for deception (i.e. her "convincing" him to marry her under false pretenses)) is not so much the issue here than what is considered as "deception" in Chinese law. In this case, I cannot accept that the defendant mislead the claimant because she had not disclosed everything about herself (her surgical procedures in this case) prior to marriage. The surgery she had, if anything, is irrelavent; for it is clear that the man was in love with his wife after her surgery and before she had his child. Okay, so naturally he might have assumed that her looks were natural at the time (His fault really and not her problem), but the fact of the matter is, he had no "issues" with his wife's looks until his child was born. Or to put it another way, I wonder: would the man have still sued his wife for deception if he had found out about her surgery and she had not given birth to an "ugly" child? In that instance he should have in principle, but his shallowness suggests that his true reasons behind the lawsuit had nothing at all to do with deception.
This is just another example of how law and morality are clearly out of sync--not just in China, but also in countries like the US and the UK where other ridiculous cases have been won. In this case, it's rather disturbing to find that a person can successfully file a seemingly moral lawsuit on another, yet entirely for ammoral reasons.
You know guys...if that story is true I don't think that the baby or the fact she had plastic surgery were the true reasons.
for all we know, the child will grow up to look like zhang ziyi. but that is low for the husband to do that. if the child wasn't his and the wife cheated, i would be on his side and would agree with the lawsuit, but over the surgery? that is low.

I got curious and looked up this story on Chinese websites. Oh look it does exist.
I'm still not sure if the story is legit, though. With the great gender imbalance in China right now, I think that man should just be happy he found a wife who was willing to marry him and bear his child. What a conceited jerk if the story is indeed true!

Asians are very serious to punishing 'lies' and being dishonest in overall I think.
Just like you get severely punished for adultery in South-Korea.
You honestly will go to jail for cheating on your partner if you get caught.
So I wasn't really surprised when I heard the woman actually had to pay for the lies.
I actually think its a good idea. This could have happened to anybody.
However I don't like the way that man was horrified with his own child: 'that ugly thing isn't my child'.
I sooooooo do not approve such behavior! Specially not towards innocent children.

Also, as you can see I don't disclose my gender on AF (or on any forum for that matter). So, does my not disclosing my gender online make me a liar or deciever to the member who would presume that I'm of a certain gender, hit on me, and then learn that my gender is different to what they expected? Let's also say that I've had a sex change for sake of argument, but I do not mention that to the interested member; so after somehow discovering my past, that member attempts to sue me for deception--or lying if you prefer. At which point did I decieve that member? All I did was not tell him/her who I was. The point is, I chose not to mention my past, not because I was trying to decieve the person, but because such a revelation ought to be unimportant to someone who should be interested in the me that I am, not the me that I "was".
