Baccano!

Just finished watching Baccano. Waddaya'll think of it?

I though the voice acting (dub version) was badass. I loved the accents they used.
Violence was definitely well done. kept me smiling throughout.
i also liked the whole 1930s United States setting and the miusic they played was on point.
The only thing i didn't really care for was the way the story was told. Jumping back and forth between the times made it kinda hard to follow and it didn't seen like there was a clear goal the characters were working toward. They were all just doing their own thing and were loosely involved with each other. But at the same time, i think thats what gave it some of its charm.

overall, i'd say about a 7.5/10

The story can be/is very confusing, but it's also the reason the anime has been praised as much as it has. The story is great, it's definitely a rollercoaster, but worth it if you can endure it

Other than that, I will have to agree with what you're saying, great animations and voice acting, but I will have to recommend people to watch it with subs, even though the dubbed version is by far some of the better ones i've seen so far.

I'd give it a solid 8/10.

LOVE IIIIIIT! Baccano! is an amazing work of art ... as is Durarara!! lol

and I agree the dub of Baccano! is absolutely perfect for the time period.

I loved the characters in this one. Issac and Miria were the highlight of the series to me, personally.

Watched the first 11 minutes on the first episode and raged quit. Not my type of noodles if you catch my drift.

How anyone can decide if a series is "for them" or not after 11 minutes is beyond me (especially this series, the first 11 minutes is basically dialogue...), I've atleast never been able to do that (atleast if the anime wasn't extremly weird/different)...

I couldn't stand a characters voice.. reminded me of negima.. and that British kid.. .-. Some ascents drill into my head and bug me. Tho negima was a good anime ...

the voices seem weird at first, but as it goes on, you'll see how they need to be the way they are. sounding different simply wouldn't make sense. Now watch it damn you!

So, any favorite characters?

Mine has to be Isaac and Miria, two weirdoes that do nothing but being silly throughout the whole series.
Could also mention Ladd, just because of the fact that he's a complete maniac/badass.

i'd have to agree with you almost completely. Isaac and Miria were the two funniest characters with out a doubt. but Ladd was the most interesting. The fact that he was so demented and fearless even though he wasn't immortal and then that twist that causes his death. theres more than the obvious side to him and thats what makes him my favorite.

I love Baccano!!! It's funny, violent, and over all amazing! 10/10! From all the character's of Baccano, Czeslaw Meyer is my favorite. Even though he is weak and has trust issues, he is still a awesome character in my opinion.

i agree that the storyline was kinda hard to follow but i loved how everything made sense in the ending and also loved the characters, they were all well made. My favorite ones are jacuzzi spot and rail tracer (claire stanfield)
i give baccano 9/10

Soo hard to pick a overall favorite because the whole cast of characters are great

Might go with Clair Stanfield as my overall favorite
Isaac and Miria for the funniest
....but all the characters are awesome

I remember giving it a 10 back when I first watched it but I think a 9/10 is what I would give it
