News: Insurgent attacks against US embassy in Libya

There were these attacks perpetrated by what I hear are members of the Libyan branch of Al Qaeda. They said they did this out of anger over the anti-Islam movie that came out recently. They used the protest near the embassy as cover for their attacks. When it was all over, the US ambassador to Libya and 3 others in the building were killed. I hear that in response to this, US Marines are now moving into Libya. Sounds like the war on "war on terrorism" just spread into Libya.

Moral to the story. You attack a US embassy, and ESPECIALLY if you kill a US ambassador, and you are SO SCREWED in a BIG WAY!

You need to read more. Christianity is much more judgmental in many things than what Islam is.
So it's not Islam, it's the cultural in the area where many of the people following islam lives.

It's the same with many females beliving in islam covering their hairs, there is nothing in the Koran about that - that tradition was in that area long before the religion Islam even came. Just as an example.

I've always wanted to read the Qur'an. I'm always approached with arguments about how Islam hates America, and how it was prophecied that "an eagle (supposedly symbolizing America) will invade and ruin their land". I'd like to read it for myself and make my own interpretations of it, like I have some other religious books. I really have no idea where I'd find it though... I doubt it'd just be sitting on a shelf in our local library.

Actually I think that if you google after it it shouldn't be too hard to find. :3 Actually some bookstores sells it, and if they have it for sale then I even think you could check at your local library.

The consulate was attacked by an RPG as they were departing in a vehicle with an armed front pressing against the embassy. It is wrong, in my opinion, to think that this event was exclusively precipitated by the film our media's been talking about. The assault was coordinated to an extensive degree because the insurgents manned an RPG in position to hit the escort as they fled the embassy.

This topic is a bit touchy and i myself was reluctant to express my opinion because i know people from the US will have strong reactions .
