Life, Death, And The Whole Darn Thing

About 20 minutes ago, my neighbor Roxanne was carried away by ambulance. She was not breathing and she was in terrible condition. Her son Rick and I are fairly good friends. She was 52 years old. She was on dialysis and was giving up hope. She was a wonderful human being with a smile that was capable of brightening up the darkest of times. As I'm typing this, I am getting news from my sister in law that she has passed on. So here's why I'm posting this:

How do you deal with the death of a loved one/close friend?

Sorry for your loss. Understand where your coming from though. Dealing with same issue with one of my best friends who just lost his mom yesterday, and another best friend who is dealing with his brother being diagnosed with type 4 cancer last week.

All I can do for them is be there to talk with what ever they want to talk about and try and make them laugh when i can.

btw i just want to let you know that no one wants to die. even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. and yet, death is the destination we all share. no one has ever escaped it, and that is how it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life. its lifes change agent. it clears out the old to make way for the new.

Feel sad about it for some arbitrary amount of time and then move on. It's just not productive to mope over something that's impossible to change (for now).

Ah... i don't think you can do much at that point. Do you think she could be saved if she had a kidney transplantation right when she came in?

Not really. She was only 52 but looked 80 and her body was in such bad shape.

I'm sorry for your loss, she sounded like a wonderful lady.

Two years ago, I lost someone very close to me. I've learned to take each day as it is, eventually it'll get better though there are days when I still miss them.

i consider my self lucky. at birth my obical cord was whaped around my neck and i wasnot breathing. thats why i am disabled but i am just glad im alive

You'll just have to accept her loss. If all the pretty things have to come to an end, then that's how you know they were pretty.

Also, @Forbuki, sudden renal failure isn't due to bad kidneys; it's usually one of the symptoms to a disease coming to a critical point.
