When did you start to watch anime?

I watched anime like DBZ and Sailor Moon when I was little. I also watched Yu Yu Hakusho but it got a little too graphic with the drawings of the demons back when I was young so I stopped that. I wasn't until two years ago that I started to find interest again, and I found myself watching Final Fantasy quality stories. I was turned off by anime for the longest time bcuz I honestly felt that anime was just way too graphic and perverted, but I'm glad I found out that not all anime is like that. I've gotten used to fan service too where I either like it or I do my best to tolerate it given that it may be an anime I might like.

I watched Pokemon and Digimon (and Shaman King) sporadically during my elementary and high school years. Yet I started getting really going on watching anime about 2 years ago when I found Spice and Wolf.
Although among my family anime is looked down upon due to the differences between the animation style and old-fashioned (bugs bunny) animation, so I have no one at home to share my anime with

2 years ago i would finish at least 10 episodes in a day for about a month straight... it was fun although i could never repeat doing that again. ahh my highschool had an anime club and one of my gf's was in it. although, i only went once hehhe... oh and i really liked the simpsons growing up, among other cartoons as well

I think my first anime was Pokemon or Akazukin Chacha, I watched them in the year 1999. I started to really get into anime in 2004 when I saw animes like Rave Master & Ranma 1/2 being aired on a tv channel named AXN. ^^

My first anime was Sailor Moon. It used to play on regular TV all the time. I think I was like 2 or 3. I have all the dolls, VHS tapes, DVDs, etc. My collection is worth a lot of money, but I don't plan on selling any of my stuff anytime soon. :]

In the late 1980s, I watched Robotech, Transformers, Voltron, Flying House and Superbook but had no awareness it was from Japan. Then when i was in the Philippines in 1994, I saw Dragon Ball Z and it was the episode where 18 kicks Vegeta's donkey and I was blown away by it

I want to say 1996-99. Not to sure. my first anime was dbz because my mom used to watch it all the time and I thought it was so cool. My first movie was Princess Mononoake which my mom bought on VHS. So I guess I gotta thank my mom for opening the doors to the anime world for me lol.

I watched Neon Genesis Evangelion and Love Hina with a friend who was really into anime. I was around 13 and I really liked Evangelion (my favourite today still) but I never bothered to watch more anime. A cousin of mine told me to watch Clannad when I was 17 and it opened me up to the world of anime.

I would have to say in the 1980's when voltron was just starting out before nicktoons killed it, and also when transformers the anime movie was released.
(then again i was also hooked on a few black and white anime series)

1998, when parents bought collection of Miyazaki anime movies. I instantly fill in love with anime. For anime series, I think the first ones i watched was doraemon, slam dumk, cyber formula grand prix, and dragon ball.

When I was maybe like 7 or 8 or something I owned a Cobra movie, I liked that pretty much ;D I ofc also grew up with Pokemon and after that a few others like Digimon but wasnt as in to them as I was with Pokemon. But I dont consider this my start in anime since this was on TV and every kid watched Pokemon ;D And Cobra (Kobra?) was just another animated movie to me
