What you want others to understand about you?

i slept 18hours a day for a whole year as a teen because of the misconceptions that people had about me regarding a certain disorder pertaining to the doses of meds they gave me... as an adult i sleep when i am tired now and get about 6 hours of way better sleep... to that generation i say this

I want people to understand that I have been through a lot the past 5 years of my life. Llike my mom and 2 of my uncles all passed around the time time. Also, some others things happened too. Because of those situations, my memory isn't as good, I have anxiety, depression, I have been officially diagnosed with post traumatic stress last week. I will also be needing surgery soon, because my body has been so traumatized from stressed that I haven't been digesting properly the past 2 years.

For the most part, I could really care less what people think about me. But there are a lot of people that tend to avoid me or stop talking to me if they know how dark and twisted some of my interests are, and some of my stories and things I've made myself as well. I have a messed up mind (understatement of the year), but I'm a still a friendly and happy person. ^-^

They also sometimes do the same when they see me in full fangirl mode. Especially if it has to do with Tim Burton or Helena Bonham Carter. Then I really have a hard time shutting myself up. xD

But it would be nice if my friends could pick up better on my telltale signs and just give me a warm embrace every now and then. I'm the kind of person who needs to be reminded that she's loved at least once a week. I've ever bothered telling anyone this flat out tho of course.

How can you expect someone to know how you feel if you never tell them? Sometimes "signs" are hard to see.

I'm old fashioned, formal, huge rpg gamer, casual anime fan, and I like to dress with a little style every time I go out. The simple t-shirt shorts just does not cut it for me. I don't even wear shorts on really hot days when I go out.
I also hold doors for people if they are nearby and not just right next to me.

Friends of mine tell me to do that if a hot girl is nearby, but I feel subconsciously obligated to hold the freakin' doors for everyone whether they're boy or girl, young or old.

I just wish people would understand and talk to me more, I grew up alone, and was that kid that got picked on in school so my self esteem was sort of crushed. now people think I'm a show off. I'm doing well for a guy my age, but the only thing i know is cars, and Anime. so it's hard for me to start conversations about anything else. when people ask me about my car or talk to me about cars i always end up correcting them because well it's my profession and i don't like pretending like people are right when they are wrong. so I''m labeled an Elitist in my community, my circle of friends is very small because of it, and well that has also kept me from getting over my ex gf due to lack of communication with the opposite gender.

1. I tend to play stupid a lot, although people i know describe me as an intelligent and very knowledgeable person. I just don't like showing off any intelligence most of the time, unless it's a random moment where i can surprise someone. I even underestimate my own intelligence a lot.

2. I'm generally an nice guy and don't like to cause problems and usually try to keep the peace. I've been stabbed in the back several times in my life though and if you cross me and if i seek my revenge, you won't see it until it hits you. And it will take my sweet *** temp time planning it out.

3. Just because i like to listen to heavy metal and rock music, doesn't mean i don't respect other/like other genres of music. I was raised off soul, blues, jazz, and some other genres. As a matter of fact, i'm listening to some Duke Ellington right now. After that i'll be listening to Jimi Hendrix, George Clinton, and then some Dio.

4. Speaking of music, if you see me playing my guitar whether i'm siting still or jumping around like a maniac on drugs(for the record, i don't do drugs), don't bother me. If i'm just listening to music with my headphones on, don't bother me. I don't want to talk and i will be very annoyed.

5. I'm an atheist, But i don't disrespect someone's religion. I live in a christian neighborhood all my life and have been picked on/called a devil worshiper just because i like heavy metal. So don't go trying to push religion on me.

6. I don't smile very often, but i doesn't mean i'm in a very bad mood. But if i am in a bad mood, leave me the hell alone! I don't want to be around people when i'm in a bad mood, because what you might say to me might set me off. (This is very rare though.)

7. I'll admit i'l actually shy around women i'm attracted to, but i'm not a shy guy in general. I just really can't hold a conversation with most people. Unless it's about anime/catoons/comics, video games, art, cars, or movies then i have a hard time trying to think of something to talk about. I also just don't like to hear my voice sometimes. I sound a lot older than i look and my deep voice scares people sometimes. You wouldn't think i'm black with the voice i have. I've been told i sound kinda like Agent Smith from The Matrix when i talk sometimes, but it's usually when i'm explaining something.

8. Just because i'm a black guy form Detroit doesn't mean i'm a sterotypical ghetto hoodlum with a record. I don't even talk like a hoodlum, except around friends for jokes and giggles. My hood accent is quite funny actually.

9. When i'm drawing when no one else is around, i talk to myself and describe my ideas out loud. It would sound like a weird version of Bob Ross from another persons perspective, especially if i'm drawing something violent/sexy.


There are some other things i can't think of at the moment.
