American Manga?

Hey all!
Is it societally permissable for an American author to publish a graphic novel in the traditional manga format (right to left)? Is there any viable way to get published by an actual manga company, even if your work is in English?

If anyone can help me out here, that'd be great.

Im sure it's fine. You might get one or two people who are annoyed but id say the majority of people would be perfectly fine with it.

Shouldn't really matter. If the author wishes to do things right to left or left to right, he/she should be able to do so without any issue. Now doing so left to right will help out those not familar with traditional Japanese manga format, but vice versa will help those that are. Overall, it won't have that much of an impact so long as there's something to notify the reader the proper reading direction for the work. I've read several mangas going both directions, and it's never effected me on bit.

That's a relief. I was concerned that it might prove to be a big issue, that there might be something just plain wrong with an American graphic novel reading backwards. I'd appreciate it if both mrpineapple and DeathBlade/13.666 would check it out when I manage to get "Kuraya" out there. I still have no idea how to do that.

Some Authors wright books that read left to right then once you gt to the end it changes and goes Right to Left back through the book, Check out House Of Leaves to see what i mean.
