Outside communication requires a lot of time and effort, and it's frankly often stressful for me to try to keep up with the gazillions of PMs I receive from all the players and at the same time to keep up a constant facade.

Perhaps it doesn't require as much skills, but it does require effort, if you're actually trying.
You could just ignore all outside communication, but then you'd be missing out a lot.
Anyway, I tend to get tired and stressed out when outside communication is allowed, so I'll pass this one.
