    The distinction between stare and essere makes perfect sense to me

    I'm just easily thrown off in this particular case because I can trace some Italian words to their Latin form, but then it turns out Italian has changed the function of that particular conjugation. :P

    For example, here vivendo looks like a Latin gerundive (future passive participle) vīvendus, (from the Latin verb vīvō, vīvere, vīxī, vīctus, "to live"), but it's instead used to form the present progressive in Italian.

    But anyway, let's not completely derail the topic of this thread. 説明、ありがとう!

    朝ご飯 asagohan - breakfast

    I like that I'm just picking up new words like this just by playing a visual novel. And already having a "decent" vocabulary is helping with that a lot too!

    アニメに習った言葉ですか。
    まず「なに」かな。少年アニメでよく使った言葉だと思う。

    なーにー!!!!

    それと「仲間」や「友達」はどんなアニメでもよくあるテーマですね。
    とくにナルトのアニメで「仲間」の言葉は耳が痛いほどあります。
    マジでもうサスケと告白して結婚しなさいよ。まったく

    Nani, nakama, and tomodachi are words I hear the most from Anime. These words are probably among the first words that I learned.
    Other words, I learned from other sources than Anime (but of course).

    funny this is, before i took japanese classes i could say
    月にかわって、おしおきよ。

    i also do remember from dragon ball z fan subs that kami literally meant god though in the old dub, they still refereed to him as kami and the kanji on his robe was also the meaning.

    and from ranma, i did learn
    俺は男だ!also from the hot spring episodes, i did learn to recognize the kanji between man and woman.

    None from anime but a few from VOCALOID.

    Kokoro = Heart (The song Kokoro)

    Kawaii = Cute (Learned this from the anime fan part of the VOCALOID fandom...)

    Desu = Love (Same reason as above...)

    Ai = Love (Learned this from Kaai Yuki's name meaning)

    Baka = Idiot (Triple Baka)

    I know I learned more but I can't think about some... I know doki but that's not really a word, is it?
    人類は調和したのか?
    VY2V3 = Me | Kagamine Len Act 1 = You
