Id say the prediter. Its an unmand veical which is a grate thing. But befor this id say the b-17. That was hell in the air durring the 2nd world war. Its a historical plain. It has 7 50 calabers and can drop bombs. The most historical b-17 is the enorla gay becouse it was the first b-17 to drop the first atomic bomb

Personally I can't say the predator it's a great recon unit but its 2 hellfire pay load makes it a limited asset. The f-22 while being arguably the best air to air combat fighter was discontinued due to high price. personally I'm at a toss up between the A-10 Wart Hog and the AH-64D Apache Longbow, Both with outstanding payload and it helps the guy on the ground. when the fight gets hard call in for some C.A.S. Close Air Support.

if i actually had to pick a plane, id be in accordance with @Red_Rum . A-10 or AH-64D. Although i have always had soft spots for the B-2 spirit and B-52 Stratofortress. they are both just totally boss haha

Well as an aircraft mechanic, I would have to ask for what purporse. For an interceptor, I'd got to go with the F-16E. Multi-role air superiority fighter, F-15E. Bomber, the B-52H for long range butt-kicking, and F-117A for quick in and out. Electronic Warfare, EF-111A and/or EC-130H. Short-medium range cargo, C-130H. Medium-long range cargo, C-17A. Attack, A-10C for medium range/power, AC-130H for long range/heavy power, and/or OV/OA-10D for short range/light power. Command, E-3G. Aerial Refueling, KC-135R and KC-10A. Reconnaissance, SR-71A/A-12A and U-2S.

Enola Gay was a B-29 was it not? But both awesome WW2 aircraft.

I've got a ton of favorite WW2 planes but I'd have to say my fav goes to the Vought F4U Corsair. I always loved the odd inverted gull wings, long snout containing the 2,000-2,500 HP motor, and 6 50 cals and a 4,000# or so of bombs.



But for even more uniqueness the P38 Lightning...



The P-61 Black Widow was neat as well.

I agree as well, A-10s and AH-64s kick butt. Grew up next door to the 10th mountain division I used to see these flying around all the time.

Yes the Enola Gay was w B-29. The most famous/historical B-17 is the Memphis Belle, btw.
