The Federated Commonwealth of Malatora, more commonly known as "FedCom", is an active and growing project with the stated goal of creating an entirely new and free country, as real and equal as any other country currently recognized by the United Nations. FedCom is presently classified as a "micronation" by other micronations (falling into the "new country project" category)... to Malatorans, however, their nation is much more.
FedCom has many deviations from the typical micronation: a strong transhumanist focus, an economic system that has no need for money and capitalism, a democratic government with strong anarchist leanings, and an iron determination to fulfill the dream.
FedCom's population have named their adopted homeland "Malatora".
Malatora is an island, located in the Gulf of Guinea, off the west African coast.
The Federated Commonwealth Defense Force (FCDF) is the formal title of the military of FedCom.
The FCDF consists of units under the control of the national government, and militias belonging to various member states.
It is geared primarily toward the defense of FedCom from foreign aggression, and has limited offensive capability beyond FedCom's borders.
The Government of FedCom is decentralized and operates almost exclusively through direct democracy and libertarian socialist principles. The People's Assembly, formed by all voting citizens, is the main section of the government, while the Council of Leaders acts as a meritocratic leadership to represent the country in foreign affairs and guide the nation towards its goals.
FedCom is currently divided into five Administrative Regions, consisting of one militarized zone that is directly administered by the FCDF, surrounded by four unincorporated satellite territories. Combined, these regions amount to approximately 675.1 km2 of land area, with ocean access on 3 sides.
