Whats with Japan/Manga/Anime and a fetish for cuteness?

I think the title of this thread says it all.. basically, they never say a girl is beautiful or that she is pretty. always cute. whats this weird desire to be cute in that culture?

Hmm I dunno but I think its because japanese girls always look "cute" because of there facial /body features whereas a european girl would be called "hot" and very seldom cute.

Well the age of concent is 13 in japan (or somewhere close to that) so that's where the (sexual fetish comes in) ie. moe/loli/shota (shota/young male person........ for the female fans) but I wont go into it from what I said but "Cute" can is not always a fetish and while most anime it is said but not all.While in H anime "Hot" is useally said ..........................I aint speaking anymore of that level.
