Default Good book/series you've recently finished reading?

    Hey guys!
    Simple enough thread.
Name a good Book/Series (Fiction, nonfiction, manga, whatever) that you have recently finished reading.
If you see some mentions similar to what you like, throw out some suggestions! i always like having a good book to read!
I love fiction that has pretty much no connection to reality at all. dragons, superpowers, magic, all that nerdy stuff that to my displeasure, will never happen in real life. or at least not during my time.
I (just about 10 min ago) finished reading the 4th Book of the Eragon/Inheritance cycle. Its easy to follow, a little more Political than i'd like, but it totally pushes all the right nerd buttons in me! Moreover, its one of the few books that managed to sway my emotions as greatly and as often as it did. I'd be a liar if i said i wasn't at least somewhat choked-up when reading the last few pages.
However emotional the series was, the ending was so well done that for once, i'm not silently begging and pleading the the story to continue! Many books leave you wanting more. But this one gives you an excellent Feeling of closure, while still leaving it open to be continued if Christopher Paolini diced to so.
Any other dragon nerds out there with me?!

Ive just finished reading Caim by Jose Saramago (Portuguese Nobel Prize winner). Really weird book , essentially , Caim murders his brother Abel , and as God is going to punish him , he thinks it is unfair , since God , being omnipresent could have stopped him and as he didnt then he is an accomplice to the crime , so he wipes out human race as vengeance... As i said , really weird book.

Just finished Eaters of the Dead. It's a Michael Crichton book, written as part of a wager that Beowulf couldn't be made interesting by any means.

Part historical fiction, part mythology, part sci-fi. Basic premise is that the character of Grendel (and its mother, too, I suppose) in the epic was really based on groups of relict hominids/hominins raiding small settlements and killing and eating Norsemen. Fun stuff, with pretty good fight scenes. Very odd writing style in this one, though.

I usually enjoy subversive or completely bizarre reinterpretations of myth, though.

Haven't read anything for a long time except for text books. The last novel that I read was Artemis Fowl.

Thanks to Ms Lucy for this awesome, funny gif.

The person that you are now is not the person that I used to know. You're becoming a stranger that I've never met before. Not liking the change though.
