I think most women don't understand how simple a guy can be. For example, if a woman asks 'is there something wrong?', and the guy said, 'nothing', the woman will not take that answer at a face value, when in fact, there IS nothing wrong. Woman will think that there IS something wrong, because that's what a woman will reply if there really IS something wrong.

Does that make sense?

I wouldn't say they're simpler, I'd say they just send less mixed signals. A guy might say there is no problem and actually have a problem, but what he wants is to be left alone or not to have to think about the problem. In this case a lot of guys will have the sense to say "Nothing" instead of "Go away".
